Hey Everyone

I recently bought a Mustang V and Cabinet. It is an awesome amp. Very nice presets and good tone.
I do have a question I hope someone can answer.
The amp has so many different presets and tones. Is it possible to put the amp in a normal clean tone amp mode. No presets no effects no amp models just the plain old amp sound.

It this possible and if so how do I set it up.

Thanks in advance

The last few presets ( 88 and up as my memory serves me) are the basic "amp" sounds.

There is no "generic" amp if that is what you are looking for. However, the Fender Twin Reverb is about as clean a sound as you will most likely need. Just be aware that with all that wattage it has a LOT of "head room". Which is to say that it will not "break up" like a Deluxe or Champ.

Enjoy! Bo

Thanks for the information Gary.

Reason I asked is that if I decided that I didn't want to use the Mustang built in presets and I wanted to purchase lets say a Line 6 POD or a Digi-tech RP 1000. I would need a clean regular amp tone. Maybe its not possible to use other effect boards on the Mustang.

Thanks

:? Well- you could take the line outs on the Line6/RP1000 into the MV head's effects in and that would give you just the sound of the Line 6 plus the SS power amp. You would be bypassing the Mustang amp patches and any Mustang effects. In effect the Mustand just becomes a power amp (Solid State).

The RP1000 will let you connect a second amp/effects unit and choose either. That's pretty sweet. I think you could do a 4 cable method on the HD 500 but not sure as I don't have that unit. The RP1000 is a great unit for everything except the Harmonizer (it truly sucks!) but that would greatly expand your choice of amps and effects.

Good luck - think I'll go hook up the RP and see how it works with the MV  .

I don't have a POD or RP 1000, but I do have an ME-25 which I can connect directly into my MIII's effects return (completely bypassing the MIII's amps/effects), no problem at all.

I've been playing around with different configurations also, e.g., ME-25 completely in the loop (instant volume pedal) or in front, for example if I wanted to stack its stomp effects with the MIII's; I've even fiddled with a crude "parallel" amp model setup by using a Y-cable from guitar to MIII and ME-25 (which doesn't have a loop of its own), then running the ME-25's headphone out into the MIII's aux in (got a few giggles noodling with parallel 1/4-note + dotted 1/8-note delays).

Thanks for the information PITA. I am new to these amps with built in effects. I didn't realize you could bypass the built in amp effects using those inputs in the back.

Sweet :D
