I'm hearing a weird sound when I play a clean model like the '65 Deluxe. If I hit a note like say 5th fret on the low E, there's a buzzing sound and it kind of sounds like a wah. Its hard to describe. It happens with the master volume around 2.5-3 with the default model. I can also hear it on other models like the Princeton and Twin but not as pronounced.

I tried 1.6.4 then I went back down to 1.5 with no effect. In fact, I think 1.5 may have been slightly better.

Sounds like its coming from the speaker but could this be something loose in the amp?

Thanks,
Bryan

Update, I went and listened again and there's definitely a fizz there at the end of notes on 1.5 but not the wah effect I heard before on version 1.6.

I'm going to try a fresh download of the 1.6.4 beta.

Ok, I was using my strat and tele and decided to try an HB guitar to see if it made a difference so I tried a LP and the amp was very buzzy with the master on 2.

Does that mean that something is not tightened correctly?

This is on the default dry Deluxe '65 preset.

it might be that something is loose, maybe speaker. Some people reported the same problem and it turned out to be a loose speaker screws, someone reported that handle was loose and made rattling sound.
BTW I wanted to check out the speaker on my MI, removed all the screws from the back but I couldn't remove back panel. It was too tight between the side panels it didn't move a bit. I didn't want to use too much force so I just screwed it back. :?

Mine used to resonate a lot when playing D (10th fret, low E string), especially on HB equipped archtop. Now I don't have that problem but I'm using different firmware, presets are different and speaker is not brand new anymore.
I'm not sure if it really resonated or what, but it did have a major boost in low frequencies when hitting D on low E or A string.

Yeah, there's something resonating. With the LP it buzzes pretty bad with just the master volume on 2 when I play anything.

I'll check the speaker screws.

Hooch,

Any news regarding the issue you're seeing?

I tightened the screws around the speaker and it didn't help.

I took it back to have the store look at it and possibly swap it out. They couldn't hear it but it was a loud music store. I could hear it and he finally heard it after a while and said thats just the nature of digital modeling, not a defect. They didn't have any more in stock so I just ate the restocking fee.

I still like this amp and will get another. Just not from that national chain.
