Fender, everybody,
I dream that the first 20 preset slots of my Mustang III should be used to save 20 footswitch settings, for example:
Preset#1: Q1= preset #2; Q2= preset #55; Q3= preset # 23
Preset#2: Q1= preset #2; Q2= preset #44; Q3= preset # 10
----------------------------------------------------------
Preset#20: Q1= preset #6; Q2= preset #55; Q3= preset # 99

Cause during the gig, each time i have to set up my footswitch before starting a new song.
We are a cover band, and we have a set of 15 songs, if i could save the footswich settings for each song, and just turn the datawheel before each new song, it save me a lot of time and error.

I hope you understand my idea (cause i'm french)
What do you think?, possible or not?

Thank you

Carruche

That is an absolutely wonderful idea! That would make the Mustang HUGELY more versatile and gig friendly! I hope Fender is listening.

I had to read this a couple of times before I got it, but now that I do, I can see that it would be an awesome convenience for anyone that wanted fast, near-random access to groups of (3) presets. (Heck, do it for all 100 presets, you never know, you might get called back on stage for a couple of encores!) 8)

I don't want to have to take my hands off of my guitar when playing - no messing with the data wheel for me! Why not program your presets in song/set order? Then all you have to do is use the two-button footswitch to change presets.

For me the problems with that is that whenever you add songs that require different sounds you have to re-edit everything. (Moving presets around in Fuse is difficult) Plus if I have a great Deluxe sound but I need to go from it to several different lead sounds on different songs I have to have that same patch in several places. I would run through 100 patches in not too long a time. (I do a lot of different styles)

If we had a structure as described bu the OP I would never have to move any presets around or worry what they were next to.

I am fully agree with Vintagevibe, plus, it should be possible to change the "song preset setting" using the 2 buttons footswitch up & down and the 4 buttons footswitch become ready to use with each time 3 new quick acces presets (for people that dont' want to take hand off the guitar).
I am sure that only a new firmware program could do that, all the hardware is ready.
Don't worry where is locate your presets, just call it when you want!!!

Ah, gotcha. Just got my 4-button footswitch today, so I can see how this would be cool (assuming you use 3 different presets per song).

Here's what I posted on another thread.

"I have a Mustang I and got to thinking about the fact that my computer can access every preset on the amp. If there was a way to capture what messages are being sent by the computer to the amp's USB port, maybe a third party company can design a USB connected pedal board that can send those messages. Thoughts?"

Just an idea for those with a 4 button pedal... When hitting the two buttons on the right at the same time .. it ups your patches to the next 10... example if you are on patch 13 and hit them both it will bring you to patch 20....

So....

Start
00 to wherever you need... up to 9
10 to wherever you need ...up to 10

This could be good for a probable 30 songs in a set... assuming 10 patches could do you 3 songs...

:) :)

Hi, Mustang4
You just gave me a solution to my Bank Up/Down problem for live playing.
Saves having to remember which way you were going just before jumping to
another Bank and having to press Up or Down to another preset, which you don't want,
to decide the Bank direction. Just hit the two rhs buttons together ! ..... nice touch.
A bit tricky though if you want to Bank down - unless you're barefoot and can press
the Down and Bank together with alternate toes, or maybe use two feet - with winklepickers !! Of course you can also decide to multiple-push the rhs pair to go round the loop to where you want. Or, set the Qa1 to 00, QA2 to 10 and QA3 to 20 and use either the 4 Button or the 2 button f/s to get there or to whatever Banks you choose. Just remember that the Up/Bank double push includes the Up touch also,
so the Bank will start at 01,11,12,13 etc. i.e. plus 1 .
The opposite is also true - Down/Bank will give 99,89,79 etc.
Still, half a loaf is better than none. Good tip ! Mustang4 .
Jim

This is certainly a good addition to the Mustang. I really hope that this idea will materialize. Can't wait to see it loaded!
