I am about to purchase a Mustang amp,not sure yet if its going to be a 4 or a 5. I have a couple questions though. First I already am using Amplitube metal and amplitude X-gear which is designed to run any amplitude product allowing one to combine features of all the programs together thru the X-gear. When I load the amplitude fender that ships with the amp onto my Imac will I be able to access it thru the X-gear ? Second would I be able to use the X-gear to run both the supplied fender program and the metal program I already have and then use whatever settings I create there to send into the mustang amp to store as a preset ?

I have the IKM Fender software (and 4 other of the Amplitude products). I am 99% sure that this is just a "freebe" and really has nothing to do with the Fender Amp (any model). The closest thing would be to use the Mustang's AUX in as an input from your computer to amplify the Fender Amplitude's software.

If you used a DAW you could use the IKM Fender in one channel and the Mustang's line out to feed another channel.

My suspician is that IKM provided a lot of the programming for the Mustang amps. Could be wrong be there seems to a "buding relationship" between the two companies.

So- two totally different programs - no compatibility that I am aware of.

I'm pretty sure that Amplitude Fender will run through X Gear, which is basically just a host for all of IK's family of guitar VSTs. It is very much associated with Fender, since they must have sanctioned and endorsed the use of the name/logos etc.

Amplitude Fender can be used as a VST inside Ableton, which also comes bundled with the Mustangs in a light version, or indeed any other recording software that suppports VSTs.

People confuse Amplitude Fender with FUSE. They are two very distinct products. FUSE can be used to shape the guitar sound BEFORE recording, but has no post-recording VST capability.

Bear in mind, however, that the version of Amplitude Fender that ships with the Mustangs is a very basic version with limited options in terms of amps and effects, although I suspect having it entitles you to a reduced price upgrade to the full product via the IK web store.

Thanks....I think I mis-understood what could be done with the supplied software. The way I understand it now is that the Fuse program is the only one of the supplied softwares that can actually be used to change the presets in the amp, not the amplitube fender as I previously thought.
