Has anyone noticed that a couple of models have vastly different volumes through the headphones than through the speakers. I've got a Mustang I, and when I was making my presets using the speaker, I made sure the volumes were level from one model to the next. Later, when I used the amp with headphones, the Supersonic was way quieter than all the other models. It seemes like there was one other one, too, but can't remember now.

Anyway, when I made the Supersonic so it was the same volume as all the others with headphones, then it was significantly louder than the others through the speaker.

That's just really bizarre...just wondered if anyone else had experienced that?

If it's broken, Fender has a great 5 year warranty. They replaced my amp with no problems.

Dude - seriously - what is it with you and the warranty? Have you ever posted without mentioning it?

I believe the warranty explicitly covers dissatisfcation due to different relative volumes. :)

On the higher watt models you could store the same preset twice with different volumes for headphones/speaker, but it's less practical on the lower watt models with their smaller number of presets.

Anyway, sounds like a problem. Has anyone experienced it with the larger models? Hopefully it will get fixed with firmware.

Not really sure if this is part of the issue and I am not at the amp to test at the moment. But . . . . . . I suspect that it may have to do with the headphones and not the amp. You did not mention what headphones you are using but the "bud" type have a natural "compression" and limited frequency range.

Using studio quality headphones you should hear no difference other that the "stereo" effect that will be much stronger with headphones.

I'll test is out later today with my high end headphones.

Well, my headphones aren't uber-high end, but they're not a Wally-World purchase either. They are around-the-ear Sennheisers I bought from our local Crutchfield...I think they were about $100 or so. Again, probably not up to snuff for a real audiophile, but the most expensive headphones I've ever purchased.

But I doubt it's a headhpone issue, as it's only one or two models, RELATIVE to all the others. If it was the headphones, you'd think it would affect all the models.

It's not a huge deal to me, TTSC needn't get put further wear on his warranty gospel for this issue! Besides, I'm not even sure how much I'll use the Super-Sonic model.

However, there is enough of a tonal discrepancy between my headphones and the speaker, I very likely will have different presets for the two, anyway. If I run short of slots, I'll just keep them on the computer and swap them as needed.

Interesting . . . those headphones should be great for what you are doing. I'll have to check it out tonight.
