What is the difference?

MusicalCircuitry has a great post on how to adjust the Touch Wah so that you can at least hear it actually doing something. I downloaded the beta v1.6 firmware update and it was supposed to have increased the sensitivity. However, it still is just unusable in my opinion.

I would like the Mustang Touch Wah to sound like the one in this link below.

Looks like I'll have to go back to a Wah pedal or buy an add on auto wah. The Mustang just won't do it.

yup,
my tiny vox da5 has auto wah and it sounds pretty much like on this youtube link and is usable. in fact here's the link http://www.voxamps.com/downloads/audio/DASeries/DA5_Blues_Auto_Wah.mp3
No offence, Fender, but I think that people expect something similar from touch wah.
The good thing about Fender is that they, unlike most others, listen to us. And what's most important, they react. (Thank you again for solving tail end fizz!)
And the one of good things about Mustang is that it is part (just) software which can be improved. And I'm sure that mustangs will continue to upgrade.

Looks like the code for touch wah should be written from the scratch in order to sound like real thing. I'm sure they can do it.

I still love the raw sounds I get from the Mustang III. One of the deciding factors for me when I purchased the amp is the versatility. The versatility factor included the Touch Wah which I just took for granted and never demo-ed in the store. I wish I had. I'm still very pleased with the amp. If the effect was not going to work Fender should have just left the Touch Wah out of the tool box and added something else like a looper.

I guess we're all a bit disappointed about the Wah . . .

Glad it's not just me. I was playing around with it last night and only at extreme settings could I tell it was even on!

I do have a actaul wah pedal which I can always use, but I was interested in the touch wah for certain applications. If they get a fix for it, that would be cool!

I've been piddling with the Wah settings, and I agree with the above posts, No difference. They should have put something else in place. :?

If you actually understand what the different knob settings do on each pedal, then you can get a decent tone - not as good as a wah pedal, but not bad considering this is a modelling amp. See the cybertwin manauls under support for the pedal parameters

I don't think Fender are all that committed to fixing the wah in any meaningful way for us. Yes, they increased the sensitivity, though I didn't notice a change, but it's obvious the wah code needs re-written or at the least, heavily modified.

I would really like to see a firm commitment from Fender to make the wah not only usable but of a good quality.

Saying that the amp has a wah feature is a bit of a stretch at the moment, as I have yet to hear it!

The only way I can get any type of wah sound w/ the Touch Wah is to back the volume on my guitar back a LOT, and also to use the neck pickup. Turn the sensitivity down to nothing, then I can get *some* wah sounds. Not usable tho.

It's a shame that the auto wah in GarageBand ($5 for the iPad) is heads and shoulders above the one included with the Mustang. :(

I think your all nuts. I'm very happy with the 'Touch Wah'.

I provides subtle and rich tone changes - not the apparent 'Wah' effect that you're looking for.

But, any obvious automated Wah is going to sound cheap compared to a real wah-wah pedal. There is no way to program an automated Wah to have the level of instantaneous control that a Real Wah-Wah pedal has. Real Wah-Wahs, if controlled well, are absolutely awesome.

So, I think that you're barking up the wromg tree. Having an subtle automated Wah is great. Having an obvious automated Wah would sound like $&^%%!

If you want the sound of a real Wah-Wah pedal, get one and learn to use it. (Hint: loosen the play on the pedal so it drops forward, then play it by pressing on the pedal's 'heel' with your toe - aka 'Reverse Wah')

Richard, can you provide a sound clip? I'd like to hear what you get, since you appear to be pleased with the results.

I agree with doug. Richard001 I'd really like to hear what you are talking about. I would be elated to find out the Touch wah works. However, I have serious doubts.

I'd also love to hear Richard's wah sound, and if it's as good as he says, then upload it so the rest of us can have some wah goodness, because from where I'm sitting the only wah sound around here is the sound of people crying because they can't get the effect to work :)

Richard, I DO have a real wah pedal, but there are uses for a touch wah even if you have a wah pedal. There are pros that use touch/auto wahs for specific applications. Besides, if I'm just noodling in front of the TV and want a little wah, I may not feel like dragging out the pedal!

And there's no reason to NOT be able to dial in more extreme settings...you wouldn't lose the ability to dial in a subtle effect just by giving us the ability to make it less subtle! So that argument doesn't make any sense!!
