Okay, I'm bummed out that I had to send my amp back for a replacement, but just before that happened, I discovered something I thought was so cool, and that's the ability to store your own effect presets to any positions on the Modulation or Delay/Reverb knobs.

As is often the case with these modeling amps, the way the effects are set up on the amp at the factory are often not that useful to me. So the ability to tweak the effects to my liking and store them in the amp's slots is just brilliant!

Kudos on that, Fender!!

Can you tell us more? Is this something different than being able to save your effects settings with presets? Are you saying that, like the TC Nova System, you can save favorite effects settings for each effect?

I don't know about the TC Nova, but it sounds similar at least.

The MOD and DEL/RVB knobs on the amp have 12 presets each...A, B, C and D, which each have three settings (1, 2, 3 as indicated by which LED is lit). You can write effects with your own settings OVER the ones that come programmed on the amp.

So for example, on the DEL/RVB knob the amp comes from the factory with Tape Delay/Large Hall programmed into the D1 slot. But I prefer to have Mono Delay paired with Large Hall, and not only that, I want my delay time and number of repeats to be different. I can change the delay type and all the parameters and save that to D1. So now the next time I call up D1 on the amp, it's MY settings that come up, not the ones programmed in at the factory.

This is completely separate from the amp presets. I can still set up an amp preset with any combination of effects, and save that to one of the amp presets. But this just saves the effects preset. So, no matter what amp preset I'm using, I can call up D1 and have Mono Delay and Large Hall Reverb set up to my specs...and I can do this from the amp without needing to be connected to FUSE. (Though you obviously have to be connected to FUSE to edit and save).

You can do the same thing with Mods. A1 on the MOD knob is a standard Chorus. If you want, you can tweak the parameters to your liking and save it to A1, overwriting the factory preset. Or maybe you don't use Chorus at all, and you'd rather have two different Flanger presets...you can make up a flanger preset and save it to A1, or any other location.

If I recall correctly (since I don't currently have an amp...hopefully tomorrow!) once you have the effect how you want it, there is a "Save" button somewhere, then a box comes up allowing you to choose from A1, A2, A3...D1, D2, D3. You just pick where you want to save it. And if you have edited both delay and reverb, there are boxes to check allowing you to save only the delay, only the reverb, or both.

Next time you are in FUSE, click on the knobs for MOD or DEL/RVB located near the top of the screen, then click one of the settings, edit it to your liking. Then look for "Save" somewhere and click it, it should be easy, then!
