Is there a way to turn on the Mustang III amp and it goes back to the preset that you were on when you turned it off? "Stay Set Electronics". This would be a nice feature to consider Fender.

Thanks

I agree, it would be nice if it remembered your last preset.... I ended up just changing the "00" preset to something useable.

Yup, as JamGuy says, just replace the 00 setting with the setting you use most often. I replaced the first 10 or so settings with presets that I made through Fuse to suit me. In the case that you want to keep any of the settings that you are replacing, just overwrite them over some never used settings farther back in the line-up. That way, they are still available if you need them.

As far as I'm concerned, the Mustang III has gone into overkill in the number of presets offerings. 100 user presets is about 80 more than I'll ever need, but I suppose it's better to have them and never use them than to need them and not have them, though.

Starting at preset 00 is the same behavior that my older Gdec 30 had (not sure about the newer Gdecs) so its not unprecedented.

Rob J is right. The best you can do is put your favorite preset on 00. If Fender were able to program the unit to turn on to the last preset you used, they would have introduced that feature on one of the G-DEC 3 firmware updates, as that has been asked since they were released. The Mustang III, IV & V probably are set up the same way.

I own or have owned Mustang I. Currently own Mustang II and Mustang III.
The Mustang I and II do 'remember' the preset when powered off and back on.
Should be similar software in Mustang III, IV, ... ???
I would definitely like that feature in future firmware release.

I too noticed that on the M III. All other modeling amps I've ever played revert to the last settings you used be it pre-set or manual - this includes all the Line 6 and Vox Valvetronix amps. I think this is a software oversight that needs correcting as it is a nuisance.

It appears that the MIII-MV work like the G-DEC 3s in this way. It's been a complaint from day one on the G-DEC 3s also. Hopefully, Fender can find a way to change this via firmware?!?

My Mustang II always starts up on the last preset I was using on turn off.

Very odd that the III, IV and V don't do the same, given that the firmware on each is basically the same other than the bigger amps being able to access more features on-amp.

Yeah, it should remember. I have a couple of Valvetronix amps that do. I did however set 00 to the preset I would normally always use now.

Hopefully Fender will fix it in the next firmware update.
