Good Morning Friends,
I'm deciding on a Mustang II or III. I know that the III has a better speaker than the II and there are 100 presets on top of the amp. My question: Can anyone tell me how many of the 100 presets are Metal,Hard Rock? I play Blues and was wondering if its worth the extra Hundred bucks if I'm not going to use any of the Metal/Hard Rock settings? I know I could tweak some of the settings using FUSE. I would like some opinions please.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Michael

You shouldn't really care how many presets are metal and how many blues. If you like the preset, you keep it. if not, create your own preset and overwrite the one in the amp.

..you can always revert back to original presets by doing 'factory reset' of the amp. It is described in the manual.

Mustang II has 24 presets ON THE AMP, Mustang III has 100 presets ON THE AMP.
presets are same, the only difference is that you can store 100 presets on M3 and choose between them using footswitch or knob on amp, and only 24 (only?) on M2.
Using PC or MAC and FUSE software you can have countless presets on computer and upload them on amp, 24 on M2 and 100 on M3

M3 has LCD screen and you can tweak almost every setting using just the amp. On M2 you can't fine-tune preset on amp itself (for example add a distortion stompbox), you must use FUSE software to do that. But once you are satisfied with your preset you can load it into amp.

Apart from 'user interface' on both models (LCD screen, etc.), more power on M3 and different speaker, electronics is the same on both, but I think that M3 is much more practical when you are on the stage.

I keep mine M1 at home for practice and I don't really care about LCD screen because I can hook it up to a computer.
