The actual amplifier will be the chip connected to the large aluminum heat sink. Supporting components will be on the circuit board close to it.

Also . . . . thoses tall round black "cans" you see are high watt capaciters. They STORE AN ELECTRICAL CHARGE . . . ENOUGH TO REALLY HURT YOU. Stay away from them and I would suggest you close it back up for your own safty.

that is awsome.

I hope the entire amp is under 20lbs. as the transformer looks to be about 1 lb.

Hi,

Appears to be one of the large flat-pac I.C amplifier chips that have been common in stereo equipment for some time.

The large capacitors *could* hurt you if you touched across the two lead wires, but the voltage rating would need to be pretty high ...

Also, the contact points for the caps are on the OTHER side of the PCB...very little chance you'd accidentally touch them without removing the PCB. However, it's always a good idea to be careful when poking around the innards of an amp!
