Hello,

I've been comparing the Mustang III to the Peavy Vypyr 75 series and am liking the M3. I have a few questions though that I'm hoping you guys can help me with.

1. Can you configure options for the 4 button switch like you can with the 2 button one on the amplifier?

2. Do you find the effects are good even at low volumes?

3. Can you hook up some sort of volume or wah pedal?

4. With the 4 button switch, can you use multiple banks of quick favorites, or do you just get three?

5. Is there any reason not to get the M3, like would you recommend something else?

6. Do you find you get much better sound from the amp after tweaking it with settings from Fuse?

Thank you.

Hi
I can help with part of your questions
http://www.fender.com/support/articles/ ... footswitch
Can answer some switch questions for you.

As for the last question, I think loading Fuse or watching a video helps you at this point. I had the same concern as half the presets on my III did not interest my style and I have limited experience with effects use. I am pleasantly surprised by the range of tones I found on the Fuse community and in my own experiments with the amp connected. For example on Fuse group I have a profile I like called All That Jazz, it is so rich and even has that bounce off the plaster walls sound like some little club!
It jumps out of the amp unlike some of the presets.
So I am having a blast with it and learning more about basic effects theory.

1. Can you configure options for the 4 button switch like you can with the 2 button one on the amplifier?

Yes and you can use both. There are separate jacks for each so you can have a six button "pedalboard" going.

2. Do you find the effects are good even at low volumes?

So far yes.

3. Can you hook up some sort of volume or wah pedal?

Yes I have run my pedalboard into it and there is an effects loop.

4. With the 4 button switch, can you use multiple banks of quick favorites, or do you just get three?

Both. There are three modes, first let's you set 3 presets and choose between them. Second is a bank and dn/up, third is individual effects stomp box, modulation, delay/reverb. With the bank switching it switches through 10 banks or 10 presets.

And a tuner display.

5. Is there any reason not to get the M3, like would you recommend something else?

A Mustang II replace my SCXD before the Mustang III came out. I have since uptraded to the Mustang III and ain't looked back.

6. Do you find you get much better sound from the amp after tweaking it with settings from Fuse?

That is subjective but the fact is I tweak about every setting mainly because I don't like as much delay and feedback most factory presets have. There are some very good factory ones and then they give you a basic one for each amp to start out with making your own. I usually end up with a few for each guitar I don't go overboard with the number I use.
