Greetings,
1st. of all let me start this off by saying WOW! It's kind of refreshing to be able to stumble onto an Amp with attatude right out of the Box!And that didn't cost alot of cash. That 1st. preset Liquid sometrhing or another is freakin awsum. I have had the Amp for about a week now and yesterday a Drummer friend of mine we got together for some jamm time. And the Amp handled very nicely. We both agreed that some George Lynch tones were very evident on that 1st preset with all of that echo. I for one very much enjoyed that. The echo was very musical! Expressive! The thing can get loud. Made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. And it has been a very long time since anything be it Guitar, effects, or just plain ol" Amp has done anything like that before! I also see where those chinese Celestions will have to be replaced. upgraded to maybe a couple of greenbacks. But that is totally O.K That Amp is totally awsum sounding right out of the Box plenty loud. Now a couple of things. I am wondering why an ext. Cab imput was not added? How am I supposed to be able to connect onto my 4-12 cabs? If I wanted to play aroud with an effects processor mainly a Digitech GSP1101 could I go through the back FX loop? One last thing. The footswitch. I didn't understand about putting any patches into the memory! Thanks!

Most new Solid state amps are not designed to handle speaker loads of less than 8 ohms.
To have allowed the MUSTANG to have an external speaker, Fender would have had to either limit speakers to 16ohms (8 ohms total) or increased the amp current to handle 4 ohm loads, which means more heatsinking or forced air.

Also, lets face it, Fender could have written in 2" high Red letters - USE ONLY 16 OHM SPEAKERS / 8 OHM TOTAL LOAD - and someone would plug in a 2 ohm cabinet and wonder why their amp became a pyrotechnic unit. And then would want a full repair or refund.

I suspect it is designing for the least common sense denominator that prevented them from adding an external speaker jack.

Thank you for your timly reply!
With all written replies from the forum. Up until now! have always been met with the most exacting amounts of curtosey. But! Although explained it never ceases to amaze me at many ways a person can be left to feel like an idiot with all of the verbal terminology! Crap man! I don't need a basic schematic on the ohm's law capcity. I already took the test you arrogant jerk! I was mearly making an observation. Is it a compatability issue Duhhh! You recon! Was I slamming the Amp! NO!!! But clearly as a forum member I was only asserting an opinion You remember opinions don't you. Gosh I surely wouldn't want anything to go boom now! Good God get the old bosses back out of retirement. The Kids have run amuck in the store! Why is it that just about everyone in the electronic field has got to be such ego maniac! And for your info I do not know about most solid state amps. I am a tube man. Until death do us part. But as for solid state amps that I have seen. I really never gave it a thought. How much effort would it take to put a no load imput jack to off set the ext. cab issue. I have no doubt that one of you top notch electronic guru's could figure something like thast out! Couldn't you? And you know as well as I. If Fender is charging $499.00 fot that Mustang IV it only cost the company about $200.00 to make at best. So please don't go there. And there is the comment about forced air. Any heat sinc I have ever seen on a solid state has been minimal at best. You are forgetting Tubes are the Amp heaters, not solid state!!!And last but certainly not least! I guess for all of us electronic illiterates out there were so stupid that we may actually need adult supervision in order to play some metal! Oooops! It again amazes me at how arrogant your comments reflect such an imflamitory attitude! Sure sounds like you could bennefit from some major anger management and a nap followed with a snack!! Have a nice day!

Wow dude, Seems to me that your the one with some major anger management issues. When you originally made these statements:

Quote:

Those aren't just observations, they are clearly questions that saransk tried to answer in an educated opinion. That you called a external speaker output a "Cab imput" (it's input btw) seems to warrant the information saransk tried to relate because you were clearly confused. If you really took that test, you probably didn't do to well.

Then, you go on to attacking saransk for trying to help, educate and answer those question - not only for you but to everyone else that had those questions - by calling him/her an arrogant jerk.

If you are technophobic and the correct technical terminology makes you feel inadequate, that is not the problem of others - it's your personal and emotional problem. To expect others to remain at or below your level of education is arrogance in it's self. You can do something about that by educating your self or you can wallow in ignorance. If you choose the latter, don't blame the rest of the world or imagine that you are being personally targeted. Technology moves on, with or without your approval. There is no intent to personally attack you or lessen you as it moves on.

I see no arrogance nor anger in saransk's post, just good information and an informed opinion as to the reason why there is no external speaker output jack on some Mustang amps.

I do see arrogance and anger in your post however...

dude
