Hi guys-I just purchased a Mustang III a couple of weeks ago. I really love it except for the fizziness on the clean amp settings (artifacts/fizz when notes fade out). I heard that this will be improved with the new firmware. Does anyone know what else is new in this release and when it will be released the the public? The amp is going back if it does't fix the problem, but I only have like 25 more days left to be able to do that (not that I want to send it back!).

Hi,
Can I go back to a previous Firmware version after loading the latest Firmware version ?.
And how do I do it ?. Can previous versions be accessed or stored on Fuse beforehand ?.
Jim

Is the fizziness on clean amp settings a problem that was introduced with the current firmware update or did the Mustang ship with this problem? If it was introduced with the update, shouldn't new Mustang owners wait until Fender comes out will a new firmware update before updating?

has there been a firmware update for the M III? I just got mine a few weeks ago and it shipped with version 1.5, which is the most recent firmware Fender has available.

I know the M I's and II's had a firmware update, but I'm not aware of any for the III.

:D

It's in the works, that's what we're trying to find out - when 1.6 for the M3 is being released.

Mustang shipped with this problem, at least mine did. I really don't remember what was the original firmware version, but I upgraded it twice so far.

I'm at work so I can't update the firmware yet. Has anyone installed the new beta firmware? If so, how good is it?

I just downloaded it and installed. All I can say is WOW - this is now officially the best amp I have EVER owned. The clean sounds are crystal clear now and the touch-wah is very usable.

Awesome job, Fender guys! Thank for all your hard work.

Jeff

Looks like it's time to spring for the Mustang III! :D

Was just waiting to see if they would be able to fix the distortion and wah issues with firmware. Otherwise, I was going to have to spend $100 more on a Vox VT80+. I have better places to spend the extra hundred!!! (a P-90 guitar) Also, I already have a 4-button switch for my G-DEC 3, so I'm set with the 2-button unit that comes with the Mustang III! :D

Ever since G-DEC 3, Fender GETS IT. There's no comparison dealing with Line 6 which goes into secret seclusion for years to update the simplest elements, if ever. Not only do these G-DECs and Mustangs rule the lo-end modeling marketplace, but Fender has gone the extra mile by adding instructional programs to complement the G-DECs, has awesome online support at all levels for both lines, and now lightning-fast response times for updates.

Must say, some of the best customer feedback response I've ever seen from a big company. Helluva job, Fender! Keep it up.

By comparison, L6 brought out the Variax way late, customers had to wait over 2 years for Workbench, then 6 years later L6 brings out the "New" Variax: Boutique guitars costing thousands with ZERO software/firmware/modeling upgrade. It's the same product they sold 6 years ago in an upscale package that most can't afford. Epic fail.

Fender clearly dropped the ball with the original G-DEC in terms of online support and support in general. And they turned a deaf ear to customers on improving the G-DEC series for years. But those days are long gone. This is the New Fender. They GET IT.

I agree 100%. Fender follows the forums and quickly updated the firmware for the Mustang. The New Fender is why I traded in my Line 6 to get the Mustang III. Alan and Loren are the best!!!
