How useful do you think the following would be, particularly on the higher watt models?

A setting that would allow you to select the behavior of the master volume knob between 2 or 3 modes.

One for low volume playing where most of the knob turn is focused on low volume, with decreasing resolution as you get louder, another for normal, and a last one for high where most of the resolution is on high volume.

In low volume mode, for example, half the turn or more would be in moderate room/house playing levels.

For example:

it would be simpler if you had a knob or switch that controls output power of the amp (wattage) and leave existing volume/gain controls as they are.

That would require actual hardware changes. Adding a setting can be done with just firmware.

You wouldn't have to change it if you weren't interested. The same is true also with the available settings, no?

Because it's a solid state amp, you wouldn't actually have to reduce its wattage. You just have to send less signal to the power amp.

Actually, creating a new parameter to send a lower overall signal level to the power amp could also be done in firmware. It would be not much different than the recent addition of the USB Volume control.

Some would call this and option to have a logarithmic volume control, rather than a linear control. I think it is a good idea. I play a lot between 1 & 3 on my MIII and it would be nice to have more resolution in the lower end of the control.
