I just bought the MIII and really like the variety of sounds as well as the ability to modify them.
My only complaint/observation is the display is not very friendly in a club enviornment. Hard to see and I don't want to stand hovering over my amp searching for presets.
To help with this I configured my presets with a 1 up or 1 down button from my desired preset hit and this gives me 3 presets that are easy to get to while I'm playing.
I understand the 4 button switch that comes with the MIV and MV will fix this with it's ability to be programmed and LED display that shows where you are on the amp.
The LED display will be GREAT in a dark club!
So (at the risk of sounding like a jerk) if this footswitch is available for the MIV and MV why can I not buy one now?
I have been told it will take until late April by some stores.
Again I really like the amp, but I wonder how long I'll have to wait to be able to use it on the bandstand.

Get a G-DEC 4-button and stop using caps. It's giving me a headache.

I'm seeing late April from the on-line retailers. 4/23 seems to be the agreed upon date for the dedicated switch. For some reason it is listed at $10 less than the G-DEC switch which looks the same (other than Play/Record/Overdub instead of Stomp/Mod/Delay.
Can you actually use the G-DEC switch?

Any idea why it is so hard to get one - I would think you could just order it up from Fender

The G-DEC 3 30 4-button is a clone of the MIII's excepting a few text swaps you can fix with a Dymo labeler.

No, the functions of the mode 3 of the G Dec pedal does not work on the Mustang.

Well, since you are dealing with a Mustang, of course you will not be able to "record", "playback" and "overdub"--only the G-DEC can do that! :?

However, mode 3 of the Mustang 4-button foot switch is supposed to allow you to toggle "stomp", "mod" and "delay" effects on the Mustang, and the G-DEC switch does that just fine.

Basically, the labels are wrong, but you do have all the functionality in exactly the same form factor; once you know what each button does the labels become pretty much irrelevant, you will know which to press by its relative position anyway.

Thanks tornadoclaw I did look into the stores that offer the 4 button switch. So I ordered mine tonight 3/7/11. That is a good price it is 59.00 at most all other stores. And there not instock but sweetwater notes instock we will see. Now I am going to look into my owners manual and the dvd to see how to get the 2+4 in line for the 6 button. Must be easy but the two button switch only has a output jack maybe the button has a in and out.
Regards Horton

The back of the Mustangs III, IV and V all have 2 separate jacks for the two foot switches, you don't (can't) daisy chain them together.

I was in my easy chair and to lazy to go look at the amp. I have a large prop. the music room is on the other end of my property. I was reading the advanced manual. Then I remembered about the two inputs. I am so dumb. Thanks PIta ps is pita for pain in the $@!. You are very smart on these amps. We have pita in the north west Pacific international trapshooting association . That's my other hobby. Thanks Horton
