Maybe I am missing something - manual is not very helpful - but letsay I have bunch of presets on my Mustang II but then I just want to quickly access say Bassman - but I do not have my laptop with me... Is there a way to do it if none of my presets use Bassman amp model (the way I see it one could fill out all 24 presets with one amo model) ????
Fender should really provide better manual - "advanced" manual is half a page longer than quick start....

The way you see it is correct ... if you overwrite all the Amps original presets, you end up with whatever you make .. The only way to get back to a bassman model, on the go, would be to either, a.) make a bassman preset and save it your Amp, b.) leave a bassman slot empty, that's already there, or c.) do a factory reset on the spot..... lol ..but that's sort of redundant as my reply was ... lol

So basically labels naming amp models by Preset knob are there just as reminder in case you may want to keep presets filled with same models? Hmmm... they really should add a way to bypass presets - that is pretty big hole.
How is III - does it allow you to access any amp model regardless of presets?

Think about it, physically it's just one Amp. And yes, there there to remind you of a certain Amp you'd like to model... You can get rid of the "Effects" sound, if that's what your meaning when you say "Presets" ? ... just turn the Mod/Rev. knobs up a bit, then turn them completely OFF (even if there already OFF) ...to have that pure Bassman sound.

What I do, "well i don't" but in ur case I would modify each slot model, e.g. Bassman, Deluxe to your liking, then press the save button ...this way you retain the model (in your mind) and dont have to worry about getting back to a certain.... whatever .... lol

Yes - that is what I thought about doing - saving all 8 amp models in some fairly "clean" form - ie. without effects but possibly tweaked in FUSE to get right presence, sag etc.
To use with pedal board. And use other 16 for same models with tweaks/effects...
Or load some presets for specific songs/artists. Maybe being slightly limited to 24 slots
is not that bad - after all I rather work on perfecting couple presets per model then
have to deal with 100 mediocre ones.
BTW is there a way to batch save/restore all presets on M II?

Exactly, and 24 is plenty I find. Yes, you can either restore the Amp back to factory defaults holding the [Exit] button on the Amp while turning it on or have it restore your 24 presets that you've already *tweaked* using the FUSE program, click [Main Menu]->(Utilities)-> backup/restore

Yes.

On the III/IV/V, there are 5 lighted buttons below the display:
Amp, Stomp, Mod, Delay, Reverb
All except Amp may be turned off completely.
When the Amp button is pressed, the dial may be used to scroll to any amp model.

So, it's possible to start with any preset and pick an arbitrary amp model using the Mustang alone.

PITA

keep the orange bank factory set.use the green and red to customise. if you need an amp set up you didn't create use the orange bank,choose your amp model,set the knobs like any standard non-modeled amp. I almost never have to touch my amp. thats what the 3 way switch on my tele is for,and I realy like the 57.That and the Vox and the twin reverb.

Hope this helps :D

Here's how I setup my Mustang II if anyone has any interest...

Amber Bank ("cleaned" factory presets):

A = Metal 2000 (Peavy 5150)
B = Super Sonic
C = American 90s (Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier)
D = British '80s (Marshall JCM800)
E = British '60s (Vox AC30)
F = '65 Twin Reverb
G = '59 Bassman
H = '57 Deluxe

Green Bank (effected user prests 1):

A = Metal 2000 (Peavy 5150)
B = Super Sonic
C = American 90s (Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier)
D = British '70s (Marshall Plexi) *
E = British '60s (Vox AC30)
F = '65 Twin Reverb
G = '59 Bassman
H = '65 Deluxe Reverb *

Red Bank (effected user prests 2):

A = Metal 2000 (Peavy 5150)
B = Super Sonic
C = American 90s (Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier)
D = British '70s (Marshall Plexi) *
E = British '60s (Vox AC30)
F = '65 Princeton Reverb *
G = '57 Champ *
H = '57 Deluxe

This way, I have access to all 12 amp models even if not connected to FUSE. I tried to be logical about it so it would be easy for me to remember where things were at.

The '65 Deluxe Reverb takes the place of the '57 Deluxe in the GREEN bank

The '57 Champ takes the place of the '59 Bassman in the RED bank.

The '65 Princeton Reverb takes the place of the '65 Twin Reverb in the RED bank

The British '70s (Marshall Plexi) takes the place of the British '80s (Marshall JCM800) in the GREEN & RED banks.

Works for me.

dude
