How do you assign functions on the Mustang III footswitch? The manual just says what functions you can assign, but not how to do it.

It is on page 6 of the advanced manual...

Keep in mind these days what you get in the box is just a quick guide. The more detailed instructions are generally going to be online...

Here is the support page for Mustang Amps...

Thanks. I have the manual, I have gone to the utility menu, set the Q/A, etc. But I can't seem to figure out how to assign the footswitch buttons to a function.

I am at work so I don't have access to Fuse so I am going by memory and the .pdf.

Do you see a "Two-Button Footswitch Mode" menu under Utilities??? That is where you assign the Quick Access Presets to the buttons on the Footswitch...

Thanks, got it. You have to turn it to which function you want the buttons to do, i.e. Q/A, down/up, etc. I had thought you could assign these functions and use all of them. But you can only do one function at a time apparantly.

Yep, you have to choose which "mode" the foot switch will work in.

I have a 4-button foot switch on order, which has a "mode" button on the switch itself, so it's possible to change the function on the fly (at the cost of an extra button click or two). My tentative plan is to just leave the 2 button set to up/down, and have the 4 button control the effects most of the time; maybe I'll find a more useful combination once I actually start using it.
