I currently have a headset which has only a USB connector and is used mostly for computer gaming. Just today I purchased my first guitar and, with it, a Mustang I amp. To be brief, the goal is to be able to use this headset while playing, as my only pair of 3.5mm headphones are terrible and I love my USB headset.

I notice that the amp has a USB mini port; would a Type A to Mini-A USB adapter work? If not, is there a way to redirect the sound from the amp into my computer (the FUSE software didn't seem to do this)?

Any help would be appreciated.

Dont think this will be possible, as the USB headset more than likely is a built in sound card, as such, the audio you would get through it from the amp would be disgusting, and I cant seem to find anything like a Male 3.5mm to USB Female adapter, except an apple product which still, if you got, i think would be totally crap for this use. New headphones appear to be in your future!

and Im not 100% sure if or how you might use the USB out on the amp, but I can promise you, it will not mute the speaker as the headphone jack would. So, it would be pretty useless without some crazy rewiring and work, in which case, I would just buy new, super clean cans solely for use with the amp.

Nope. That USB on the amp is a "One way" serial connection. Which is to say it is used to RECORD but not PLAY BACK. You will need to monitor the playback through your computer's audio out i.e. just like you do with your games, etc.
