I am unable to find where in Pro-Tools 8 M-Powered I am supposed to select the Mustang ASIO driver to enable direct USB recording. I have installed the driver and it automatically appears on other DAWs (Samplitude, Sonar Home Studio etc.), but no luck in Pro-Tools 8. Does the driver need to be installed in a specific directory? I'm open to suggestions!

Btw...I've only had this amp for a week, but I am absolutely lovin' it. Took it to church band practice and it totally changed the sound of the entire ensemble - waaay better. It proved to be very versitile with solid, thumpy lows and sparkling clean highs - whatever sounds you want - how and when you want 'em. The other guitarist is a Fender purist (and an excellent musician) and he was amazed at the sound of the MIV. Very complimentary. Everyone thought the cost would have been $800 or more, hard for them to believe I only paid $399 (used a $100 GC email coupon)!

Thanks for any help you can offer with the Pro-Tools issue.

Yeah, one of the many reasons ProTools turned out to be a tremendous waste of money and time for me years ago..

Reason # 1: ProTools forces you to use proprietary hardware with their software - you can't use your own choices.

IMO, ProTools is way over hype, I would recommend using REAPER instead. A lot of ProTools users have done so and not looked back.

Thanks P90...I'm thinking it has to due with the Fast Track interface..PT "M-Powered" probably doesn't recognize any other inputs.

Might just go back to Sonar...

Pro Tools software version 8 or earlier does not work with non-Digidesign/Avid/M-Audio hardware.

Thanks Loren - I do have both an M-Audio Fast Track and an M-Audio Keystation attached to my PC. I was thinking that these would meet the "Avid input device" requirement.

I thought there may be some way to get Pro-Tools to acknowledge other input sources...guess its time to mic up the Mustang IV rather than connect via usb.

Nuts -that was part of my attraction to this amp - but only a part.

Still love my new toy!
