ShredRex, what pickups did you try?

I have the stock IBZ in my Prestige 1570, tied blackouts too but was not happy with them as they are too sterile sounding and went back to the stock pups.

As far as the Tonelab series go I have the Tonelab ST, it is an amazing sounding little unit...awesome for recording.

Im just reading about them now ...seems there's two ..LE and ST ..ST sounds better on paper ..since it has USB and some extras... So hows it compare to the Mustang's mod/rev, cab ...Effects? ...better worse ?

The effects in the TLST are way better than the Mustang, no contest. There are 33 amps as well, and many of the high gain ones sound awesome. It is a true 2 way USB device and far superior for recording at 24 bits A/B conversion. Fro recording hands down the TLST is the best option out there for the price. ($199)

The mustangs are good amps, but not the greatest recording devices. The USB is for Fuse, but not optimized for recording. The flanger on the TLST is stellar :) Where the TLST fails, is the fact there is no decent USB/PC editor. If it had software like Fuse it would be the be the ultimate device...but the editor it ships with s useless.

Good info. I'm going to check them out some more. I notice the ST Octave only does an Octave below ..but the SL version seems to go both ways plus it has OCTFUZZ looking at the manual.. I'll look into it some more after and check out some Youtube demos ... If the effects are that awesome .. this mayb exactly what I want ...U-VIBE and Octave up are my main concerns........regardless, lots of neat stuff on both ST/LE. Thnx

I love my Tonelab ST as well. Nothing on there feels digital at all. I'm not sure how they pulled it all off to be quite honest, but the lack of a real editor is the only downside.

I think Fuse is going to set a bar going forward. Real time editing of modelers with a fantastic interface that integrates into a parent web site is a big step for devices in this price range. Vox and everyone else will need to step up. It was the reason I went for a Mustang over a VT+ (Basically a Tonelab ST built into an amp).

True, being able to do "deep editing" via Fuse .. maybe I'll just stick w/ the Mustang for now... I do have a DOD TEC4x multi-effects pedal...and it does sound digital ........ lol I just like the idea Tonelab has Octave/U-Vibe (plus tons more) and BUILT on Wah Wah pedal (o:

I bought the mustang has a power amp for my line6 products. I ended up selling most of them and using the Mustang alone. I still own some l6 product and also made 1to1 comparisions between models. Mustang wins. I also have Zoom product and amp sim still a lot behind. When it comes to effect i should say that taste plays a great role... 63-65 reverbs are winners in their fields, but l6 has some very sweet chorus and zoom overdrives and wah are winners.
