@Electric Mistress

Me thinks folk who like distortion are going to generally be less likely to hear it and less likely to have a problem with it if they do ... but if ya like clean tones it might drive ya nuts.

I'm not angry at Fender ... yet ... since they sent me an email back channel I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt ... for now. If 3 months from now they haven't said something about it ... then I'll will be mad ... definitely. I don't think I'm the only user who has emailed Fender about this problem. I'd at least like to see them acknowledge in this forum that they have heard the complaints of users that have this problem. Fender does read the forum ... they have responded to posts regarding general questions and other issues by Mustang users ... but they have kept silent on this one.

Not trying to dig up old bones :lol: but how do yous like the Wah/Fuzz effect. I guess I never really knew what Fuzz was suppose to sound like and I guess it might sound fine to some people...but like you said ..its a cheap Amp with some terrific sounds... so we can't really bash it for a few perhap ..*mistake* sounds ? The auto-wah (I) can live w/o but I would really LOVe to try the Fuzz effect with Octave up ..but I can't get the Fuzz to sound Fuzzy ..its far to harsh to my ears and always seems to want to kill my speaker.

They really need to fix the fuzz, and the fuzz wah, The fuzz wah should be a Guitar synth kind of sound but doesn't seem to work like that at all

You sure about that? I think its suppose to be a fuzz into an autowah sound.

Which should sound like a guitar synth. The stereotypical analogue synth sound is a square wave into a low pass filter with a high resonant peak, which is what some fuzzes basically are and what some Wahs basically are. The typical guitar wah sound tends to put the wah in front of the fuzz and use less gain to begin with, and of course most amps are voiced in a way that doesn't sound very synth like.

But if you use a Fuzz-wah into a fairly clearly voiced amp, you will clearly hear a synth like tone.

It's hard to recreate with separate effects. When you use a high gain fuzz, you loose dynamics so it's hard to trigger the filter and following it isn't an option. That's why you need one dedicated unit so it can pass on the original dynamics of your signal and use that to control the wah effect.

That's the whole reason of the Fuzz wah existing to begin with - not to try and give you Jimi Hendrix sounds, that's not going to work. However someone in Fender along the way obviously $@!&*% up a bit.

The EHX Microsynth is essentially just a glorified Fuzz Wah with some octaving.

I know this because I play electronic music live and am using a guitar :P I'm mostly using different fuzzes(like a Fender Blender), octaving and wah.

I agree .. either the Fuzz/Wah sounded OK when they initially were building the Mustangs, then later they added some more effects or modeling.. which mangled those two sounds completely .. ...and ppl are still saying it still sounds the same in the MIII and later Amps .. (You'd think they would of fixed it by the MIII ...else we're all tone deaf .............. lol) but I doubt it .. :) :mrgreen:

At least it's not as bad as Line 6 who sell THE ULTIMATE MULTI FX without a working auto-wah. Some people have been able to get it to work placing a compressor in front of it, but then you loose an effect slot. Have to get the Pod HD I guess so I have 8...

The upload option wouldn't appear for me. I don't know why? I asked in the thread and nobody responded :(

Yep. Some of the presets that I have in the Media Library will not show the Upload option when I right-click. The only ones that will allow me to upload are the ones that have the Author blank or has my login name (lesbeat) set. Could this be the issue with your preset?

Thanks - I gave it a quick description and that seemed to work. Just look for "Stoner".

Got it. I'll try your other presets as well. I have a vox night train, so Dirty Vox should be interesting... Thanks!
