They might have a little less noise because the transmission is digital, not analog. I doubt you would notice the difference while playing guitar.

I like my Vox headphones. Can use like conventional headphones or plug right into guitar an use its on-board effects.

I would think that one of the most important features is how closely the sound through the headphones matches the sound from the Mustang's own speaker, especially if you're tweaking a preset for live performance (as opposed to recording via USB).
That being said, I mostly use the headphones anyway, so I go for comfort. Right now I'm using a pair of Sony MDR-XD200.
I really miss my Sennheiser HD-400s with the bright yellow foam ear pads though.

Is there any noticeable delay with bluetooth headphones? That would be a deal killer for me.

I'm starting to think about wireless headphones of some sort now, because it's a nuisance dealing with the guitar strap and the headphone cord getting caught tangled, especially when swapping guitars.

exactly - i'm such a klutz that I step on my guitar cord all the time. when I add a headphone cord, forgetaboutit! I did order some Sony's, but they were IR and the buzz and static were ridiculous. sent them back to amazon the same day. i'd like to keep it reasonable (around $50) if possible. The highest rated (non Bluetooth) I saw were the Sennheiser RS160, which are around $115 on Amazon. I just can't spend that kind of $$ on headphones right now.

I have some nice and comfortable AKG analog wireless headphones in the living room. Haven't tried them on the Mustang yet, but they sound quite good for music and cost around 50 EUR.

I personally use VOX Amphonea C30. Nice clean sound. Have not tried any other headphones, but these seem to do a good job.

Sennheiser HD-414 were an iconic model.
That said, some people use Grado headphones with the pads swapped out with the yellow HD-414 pads. The pads are still sold by Sennheiser, even though the cans aren't.

Grados get my vote anyhow - open headphones just sound better IMHO, and allow you to practice with a metronome or drum machine, or hear when someone is at the door.

Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple is not a wireless fan, and has told Apple to not lose the existing headphone jack for a replacement that calls for a lightning headphone jack on iPhone 7 and possibly iPad. A wireless solution alone is also frowned upon.

For several reasons he thinks it's a bad idea, and believes the move would be unpopular. As for Bluetooth, the Woz believes wired is a better reproduction of the audio for the moment and, although there has been improvement in Bluetooth sound, he does not believe it is equal or better yet. One man's opinion that is shared by others.

There are those who prefer to record only wired microphones for similar reasons.

It should be noted that there is a difference between convenience and best result. Sometimes, the two can work together; but, all too often it is a compromise and often pre-mature.

I use Sony MDR7506 Profession studio headphones, and they make everything sound incredible, Mustang included. Honestly the biggest problem that I have with them is that everything sounds so good that it's hard to know how sounds will translate into inferior headphones or a car stereo when I'm recording.

I picked them up for $80 on Amazon.
