Does anyone have a good suggestion for the best headphones to use to plug into the Mustang?

I'd like comfortable headphones with a decent length cord that handle the full spectrum of sound well.

Any great suggestions?

Not sure of the best ...but I just finally received 3 pairs .. a Wireless HD Sennheiser, a pair of Hyundai and a real cheap pair for 7 bucks FREE ship. and I cant hear a difference ..in fact the cheapest sound best ..and they have nice braided cord the others dont .. Wireless ones sound a bit better when I attach a cord ..but ..here a link for the cheapies .. they sound out of this world with the Mustang and on Netflix ;)

Very subjective - depends on use and enviroment.

Studio I use Sennheizer HD 280 Pro 64 ohm

Just knocking around or on PC AKG K270 Studio 75 Ohms.

If you don't hear a difference between "low cost" and "upper end" headphones than there is a component in the chain that is taking them to the "lowest denominator". That could include the G-Dec or Mustang phone out, the sound card, the monitor speakers or all of the above.

I like my Sony MDR7506 headphones.

They work very well for recording, and sound great for listening to the amps output.

The MDR7506 were a huge step up from my AKG K140's I've had since the 70's, still use the AKG's outdoors when weather might be an issue.

Shure is an awesome make ... I was going to grab Sony but never did .. I grabbed the Wireless HDR 116 Sennheiser I bought 2 yrs ago to use with the TV but I never really liked them at ALL...there super uncomfortable and flop off my head to easy ... so I grabbed a set (Soncom SSM-622M-V) off eBay about yr ago and Loved them to death but I gave them to some girl ..stupid me and couldn't find them since....so I searched again for about a month..finally found the same ones on that website I mentioned above ..same color and I love them ..but these Hyundai HY-551MV came the same day .. there really comfortable ..only $25 ..but the 7 dollar ones is all I use .. the recorder for voice is amazingly clear ..not sure why there so cheap ..but I'm no pro ..maybe yous guys will notice a BIG difference but with the MII and while using them on my laptop the Soncm SM-622M-V is all I use .. My nephew (MR360Games) on youtube has a $200 pair of maybe Shure ..I guess there better than entry level for on-line gaming ...he says they have 8 speakers in each ear piece ..for surround snd..but I didn't like them neither ..they sound to quiet or whatever... probably cause there wireless ..

Hmm there cheaper now .they were $25 2 weeks ago..only 14 now:

The HDR-116 I bought from Dell ..I think I paid $50-75 so they are lower grade and the worst Sennheiser ...stay away from them but all other Sennheiser's are excellent ..100
bucks and up.

I have a pair of Bose QC15 headphones. Sound awesome but pricey at $299.00. They work great on my Mustang II.

resurrecting this thread!

any suggestions for wireless headphones for my Mustang 3? would my Bluetooth headphones work with some type of adapter in the headphone jack? or are there wireless headphones made more for amps/tv that don't need the calling features?
I like playing through the headphones at night, especially with my iphone added in so I can play along with songs.
but I keep tripping over the cords (yes, i'm a klutz!).
thx

I'd get simple wireless headphones (non-bluetooth, with a base station that has an RCA input and a cable with a TRS jack).

thanks for the reply! so for the mustang amp, would bluetooth work with an adapter, or does it have to be some type of FM modulation for wireless to work?
you have used the Sony's with the Mustang? not only for guitar, but if you add a mp3 player into the aux input? i read the reviews on the BB site and most people use them for watching TV. not sure how the audio quality would be for music/guitar.
thx

It really doesn't matter.

MP3 on headphones through the Mustang sounds pretty much exactly like MP3 on headphones directly from the iPod or whatever. Why would there be a difference?

Do non-bluetooth wireless headphones sound better than Bluetooth?
