[color=#0000BF]My two cents is this: I will wager it's the DSP models and artifacts that's causing the booming base on some settings that completely overwhelms the rest of the sound. It is horrible. A good example is the Bassman model. The high end sounds accurate until you hit the low E string and it mutilates the rest of the sound. They can fix this and I hope they do.

My style is fairly clean with some grit. However, on some models, it is impossible to dial in a minimally distorted sound without it sounding harsh or with reduced volumes. I have also heard the same comments regarding the "fuzz" sounds -- that it's very harsh and trails off poorly.

I know this is only a $300 solid state amp, but I hope software development can come up with more accurate models in the coming year through updates. Also, why not just give us a "model" of the amp by itself, free of any coloration?

Hey Guys,

Riffy - What I would do is take the amp to your dealer and compare it to another one in stock. that way you'll at least get to compare the headphone out.

The USB out was defective.
The only problem was, the Mustang II that they had, sounded
overly bassy and fizzy through the USB on higher gain patches
as well.

I ended up returning it. They didn't have a Mustang III in stock
at the moment for me to try. Do you all think a graphic eq or a
parametric eq into the efx loop of a Mustang III would solve my
problems?

Gary

PS. I know I am asking for speculation mostly, but I hope some
of you who have bought the III will have an eq pedal to try in the
loop for recording. If you do, please try some high gain sounds and
let me hear or hear about your results.

You know it would have helped no end if you actually took a recording.
