Wow, that sums it all up...I am kidding of course, but on a more serious note, I am an active gigging, aspiring musician. I am only 21 but I have been on the infamous tone search like many others for years, literally years, I have amassed a large collection of just about everything, I have every tube screamer with every mod you could think of, even a few of my own, I have built my own amp, I own some of Fenders most prized models, even the more expensive harder to find ones. With that in mind, I am always in search of something new, something I can make my own, and I have found it! Fender Mustang lll, I have never been so pleased. Although I am young I would say I am fairly experienced, I say this because I literally play guitar from 7 to 7 and after is when I do laundry, homework, grab some food, go out, whatevery, a few days ago I decided to head to Guitar Center to see if anything new showed up, Sure enough, there it was, the Mustang, I had heard of the Mustang series prior, as I have said I keep up on this stuff avidly but was turned off to the idea of the amp as soon as I saw the wattage and the solid state was a deal breaker, Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the G-DEC for what it is, and yes, I love my SuperChampXD, I really do have every amp. But as we all know, the XD is not all tube and is lacking in the digital department with a little left to be desired. This time was different though, one, way more wattage (100) two, a lit screen and three, some pretty cool amp models to choose from. I have alway loved and trusted in Fender and they did not dissapoint, I am literally thrilled with this amp. Think about it, 57 Deluxe, Champ, and Bassman, the Princeton, Twin Reverb, What more do you want? Best part is, I can carry it anywhere, I am in love with this amp, Highly recommended!

Well said. These babies sure are the real-deal and Gems. And like you said, 100w sounds like to much at first for some people ...but it aint with the Mustang line. From what i'm reading they still sound just as good at low volumes as do the MI/II's as they probably do cranked.

Hey aLinux! I actually based my purchase off of some posts you and a few others had between you all about how you felt about the Mustang, I agree they do sound good even at low levels still get's that tiny break up or presence that tubes give off or atleast very close in my opinion, any buzzing or white noise, I just pretend is the "age" of the amp, but secretly I know it's young. Just got done setting my first ten settings as I am not that into the heavier amps for heavier music styles, that being said, I really enjoy the noisegate feature and after putting fuse in my computer to really expand on what the amp could do, I decided the ten clean settings were enough for me for now. My question and problem I am having is this, maybe you could help, I have always loved and owned tube amps, and a few solidstate amps too. My problem is, I have a very thurough pedal board, mainly based off of gain staging, a boost pedal and an equalizer for to emulate scooped mids. What I am finding is I don't know how much they are really helping the sound, what I am really asking is do you think I am degrading the tone and sound by adding more to the signal/chain?

Same here ... I love that sound .. It still freaks me out they captured something I didn't know was possible in a solid state Amp.

Me too ... I've always been a Bluesy style player and used just Clean punchy sounds with a little break-up.. but .trust me ..after playing with ur Mustang for few months and you keep clicking over to that Metal 2000 setting ..it will start to grow on ya I think ..I dig it dearly!!! but at first I couldn't stand it ..now I can't live w/o those heavier settings.

If it sounds OK to you ..by all means use them..cause I for one cannot live w/o using my Wah Wah pedal ..but its still up in the air for me ..I haven't actually been using the external pedals enough to answer you..but the other night I plugged in this Byang tonfancier OD-8 and used it with my VOX AC30 setting on the stang and it sounded great ..about the same as it sounds goin thru my tube Amp and the Wah pedal after banging it a on the ground a few times ..sounded good ..the wah and OD-8 are new and the Wah made some bad noise ..not just in the stang but thru the tube ..seems ok now ..but I have Tec4x pedal board in the room I may try but so far ..all the sounds I been getting out of the Mustang ..I haven't missed the external pedals much ...and since ur using a MIII ..you have an effects loop so you should be good to go ..just rock out :)
