Regarding recording with the Mustang and Audacity, if your Mustang is on and connected, you should see it show up as an input option in Audacity's audio setup panel. As you may know, the Mustang is an input-only device and you'll have to use another source for output. If you'd like info on setting up the Mustang to record into an ASIO compatible app, take a look at this KB article.
http://www.fender.com/support/articles/ ... d-playback

I ran amplitude and set up the "panel" exactly as the picture shows. Audacity just lists "no device" under recording devices.
And another thing... Amplitude is asking me for a serial #!
I just bought the amp. I don't have a serial # for amplitude.
I have the warranty card, the cd, the fender reg. card, and the manual. (if you could that a manual!)
I bought this so that I could model and record. It does one of the pretty well.
what would you like to try next?

OK... let's presume fender's software doesn't work. (and it doesn't). Is there some other way I could plug in this amp USB and get it to record over usb?

or download Audacity. Both work for me.

Your Amplitude serial is available on your Fuse User page setup.

ok... I'm sure it must be. Where is that exactly.
It's in the Fuse program under?
File, View, Media, Utilities, or Hep?

tried Help, about: nothing
file, new preset: nothing I could keep going down the list of all possibilities, I suppose, or maybe you could tell? Do I have to un-install then re-install the program ...is the "User Page Setup" only available during installation?

OK...lets do it...
File, new preset: not there
File, open preset: not there
File, save preset: not there
File, import preset: not there
File, exit (dumps you out of the program)
Vie, preset editor: not there
View, media libray: not there
(have to exit the program and go back in at this point, as I don't know how to get back to the amp page from media library...good design you guys!)
View, Web community: not there (exit, go back in, since there's no obvious way back to the amp page)
View, full screen mode: not there
Media, play stop band track: not there
Utilities, update firmware: not there
Utilities, backup: not there
Utilities, restore: not there
Utilities, tuner: not there
Help, About Fender Fuse: not there

Ok... I can honestly say I've made a good faith effort to find the serial # in the Fuse program, and I can't.
Yes, I am a stupid computer user, and I do need more help!

OK... lets go see if there is a "fuse user setup" in the amplitude program somewhere?
Nope... not there either. OK...lets try google.
Well that wasn't very productive...there seem to be thousands of entries that have either fuse or user setup as part of their wording.
Hmmm...
I know... why doesn't the original poster be... oh.. more specific...
That might help? Maybe?

After you log in to https://fuse.fender.com/ at the top choose 'Edit Profile' you can redeem for the serial there.
