Hi Loren,
So, I unpacked my Mustang I that I moved from the US to Shanghai. I'll be here for 3 months on assignment. Plugged in. Flipped the switch, got about one minute of Mustang love and then it stopped. Did Shanghai's voltage fry my Mustang and I should just toss it or is there anything I can do.
Thanks
Sam

Sorry to hear that Vonas.
Although the Mustang series Amps are created in China, (to cut costs) sadly they were not equipped with a power switching transformer when shipped out. Always check the manual or back of equipment device before transporting and plugging-into an adapter. There rated at 110/120v, however, the European Mustangs will be rated at 220/230v. We really have to watch when traveling, but since the Amp is still under warranty, you can take your chances  Good luck and sorry again.

the annoying thing is that I plugged it into a voltage adapter before using it. Oh well. It was only $99. Thank GOD I brough my 1 watt 9 volt powered Fender Twin amp with me. It's better than nothing. Turns out of the 12 weeks I'm supposed to be in Shanghai, I will actually only be here for 6 weeks!

If you plugged it into a voltage adapter then it "should" have been OK, is the adapter faulty ?
Ive not had a look in side of the amp but it may have just blown a fuse or maybe the PSU which probably wouldn't be to hard to get fixed once you are home.

Oh, the Amp should be fine than .. I was just meaning an international adpater since everywhere I go is different .. I didn't mean the one that you're using, which does switch volatge and current. Most likely a blown fuse like attu says.

Don't you think that sounds professional enough Vonas? - after all...it always sounds like "aLinux" is answering on behalf of Fender.

Gawd Loren ...I swear you must be a saint!

Hey Sam,

You definitely blew either a fuse or the power supply. I'm leaning more toward the power supply. Neither of these parts are user serviceable, however. I also have to let you know that this issue normally isn't covered under the terms of your warranty.

R.S. Fraser- all due respect, mate, but if Alinux is affiliated with Fender, how would I know from profile.

Loren,
Thanks. I'll pitch it and not haul it back to the US. Thankfully it's not a big expense.
Regards
Sam
