Very few uploaded presets include tag info.

With the introduction of the Mustang 3,4 and 5 it would be nice to know which amp was used when a preset was created as they will undoubtedly produce different results depending upon which Mustang was used as the speaker types/number is different and many of us have the Mustang 1 and 2.

Just my 2c worth.

I second that .. plus fill out as much as you can ..its easy to do ..just click [PRESET INFO] within Fuse and ALWAYS remember to click [SAVE] after making your changes.

Half or more of the presets have just a single name " it'd be nice to read about what
guitar you used, pickups, picks, strings, (was the room round, square, medium.. etc...)" anything that affected the tone of ur preset...or whatever you can think of  (j/k)

That ain't the half of it.

There are now hundreds of presets and the downloading scheme needs to be revised to make it more efficient and user friendly.

We need to be able to do batch downloads of presets. Currently ya have to download them one by one.

Some folk hoard presets and have 200 or more. When they start looking for more presets, they need to have an easy way to identify presets they've already downloaded when they start searching the preset library. Currently the only way to do it is by comparing file names on their computer to the preset names in the library as they search ... one by one.

Some presets currently have duplicate names. Duplicate names should not be allowed.

The presets should be better described in the preset library. Currently the only descriptors are the preset name/by/date, genre and statistics. That doesn't tell ya much. Descriptors that should be added are at least the pickup type (single or humbucker) and guitar (solid or hollow). A "sounds like" descriptor would be nice. It would be nice if this was on the list of presets in the library rather than having to go to the download page to see it.

Fender ... you listening?

Put it in the comments the info requested above, you can comment on your own preset, you just can't rate it.

Sure, you can put stuff in the comments section, but ya have to click on Download to read it. The point is that users download dozens of presets and they need a more efficient way to identify those they want to download than is now available.

I meant if you did'nt originally add tags or guitar, pickups, info, and whatnot ... you can go back and add them in a comment. You can also click the title of the preset to get to the user info on the preset. Ideally you should be able to edit the details inside the preset, just not the preset parameters.

Thats correct. Its what I do but unfortunately most posters dont bother to enter tag details.

As for downloadin presets, I always download from the "Newest" column. Presets are dated.

I download them through Firefox, not Fuse, and I keep each lot of downloads in a separate folder named by date and name of last download in that folder. I then copy them into my /home/username/Fender/presets folder, and keep the original downloaded presets folder(s) as backup, That way i can delete those that dont suit me from the /home/username/Fender/presets folder as the more presets you have in there the longer it takes for Fuse to load.

Still require Fuse to allow sub-folders/outside source locations.

Fuse for G-Dec 3 has provision to use a memory card as source, so how much programming is required for Fuse to allow accessing of a thumbdrive/mem card/HD partition on a PC/Laptop for the Mustangs????

Are people not adding tags because they dont know how?
Strat (Freudian typo), START a new preset and set it up to your liking. Then PRESET INFO, add your tags and genres, then save, then add your description. Then select Media Library then Computer in the top middle of your Media Library, not the top right "search" one. Then highlight preset , right click, select upload, then it will assign you as the the publisher/author which will then reflect in your amp setting that is saved in your media library. Capice'?
