Thanks

Actually, it's a Mini A to USB A. You can find it at any RadioShack or other electronics store. Possibly cell phone stores too.

Can someone confirm this? The guy who posted the most recent reply here other than me of course, said mini A to USB A....but I'm having a really hard time finding that in my google searches. I'm particularly interested because I've never been able to get Fender Fuse to work with my computer, but about 2 or 3 days ago I was looking at my USB cable and it looks like the dog or one of the kids messed with it and now the litle silver/chrome looking piece that sticks out of the end, and connects to the amp, was pulled out a little, and most likely broke it...which would be terrific, because then I know I can just go buy a new one for $5-10 and actually FINALLY use fender fuse!

But in looking around online, and on the walmart website in particular, I've not been able to find anything that fits the description of USB A to Mini A. I'm currently waiting on hold with the electronics dept at walmart, I can only assume that the woman who was trying to help me is asking around or something, because I've been holding for exactly....7 minutes and 50 seconds now. I'm about to hang up and call back. But in the rare case that someone who knows this info replies to my post in the next 10 minutes or so, before I drive over to walmart with my broken cable in hand, and find a replacement.

Gotta love those atom splitting genius' at Wally World.

No, the original reply was correct. It's a male USB type A (standard on the computer side) to a male mini-USB type B (standard from 2000 to 2007, when micro-USB came along).

The second and sixth entry in this image:

Mini-USB plugs are harder to find these days, but it's a fairly standard mini-USB cable. Just don't buy one cheap at eBay or Chinese drop-shipping, or you risk getting one that is intended for charging only, without the data wires going in a twisted pair, or in some cases not connected at all. But any "Mini-USB cable" from a reputable company should do fine.

And don't get an overly long one. The Mustang is an older device and doesn't use full speed other than for ASIO over USB, so the low speed standard applies, and the maximum is 3 meters (about 9 feet). You can probably get away with slightly longer, but above 5 meters (about 16 feet) is likely asking for problems.

Just as an aside.. I put a 15 foot extender on my USB cable to reach my amp in my studio. I has never not worked.

Though technically it is mini-b, if you order a mini-b cable the end will be too thin for this amp because a lot of companies are referring to the micro-b as the mini-b. If you want a good fit and working cable, go to Gamestop and get a Playstation 3 charge cord. It is ten foot long, better made than the crap cable that came with the amp and it works flawlessly. I just got one, new, for $11.98 + tax. Gamestop is about the only place that still carries them as they still sell the older game consoles. Best Buy only had cheapie Dynex 3-foot crap in the right connector end. They suggested the cable type and to try Gamestop and *boom* it was there.
