Hi everyone,

Last Wednesday I bought the Fender Mustang and I think it's really good! But I have a problem with the "amplifiers"of the matter.

I have two guitars, a Fender Stratocaster and an Epiphone Les Paul Standars Plus. With the Fender Stratocaster all sounds good, but not with the Epiphone. It sounds too noisy or too much distorsion and it is impossible to distinguish anything. Is it normal?

It also happens with the Fender Mustang II? because the seller told me that the Mustang II was much better because of the speaker, but I think to play at home, the Mustang I is better. Should I try to change it to Mustang II?

I upgraded the firmware to the latest version and still the same :-(

I hope I do not have to return the amp :-(

Thanks!

hmm. that's strange. I have A gibson Les Paul that I use with the mustang I, and I don't have any problems like those you mentioned. The American 90's amp model is kind of crappy any way, so I don't use it, but as for the rest, I don't have any problems with the Super Sonic/Metal 2000/British 80's. As a matter of fact sometimes when I have my Les Paul out I'l turn on the Metal 2000, and crank out some metallica.
You may have a bad amp, though. But its strange that it doesn't happen on all the amp models, just the 4 you mentioned. Have you tried your guitar on another amp, to make sure there isn't a problem with the guitar (I don't think there would be). I'd try another amp, to be sure.

Thanks for the information.

My guitar teacher told me that may be due to the humbuckers, which have more punch and a louder sound serious or something like that.

Until recently I had a Line 6 Spider III and did not have that problem, and I sold it to buy the Mustang I. I also have at home a little Vox DA5 and I don't have that problem either.

Do you think I should talk to the store to get another one?

You were wise to trade sell the line 6. Line 6 makes a nice amp, but the Mustang is way more fun. Definetly talk to the store, and bring your les paul with you. Try out another amp there. I have a strat with humbuckers, and a les paul, and neither guitar with humbuckers plugged into my mustang I gives me the problems you are describing. Also, what volume are you playing at? If you have it cranked up loud, there is a chance that the amount of gain from the amp along with the humbuckers is causing a problem, but if it does it at low volumes, your amp may be screwed up.

Thanks for your help, guys!

I think the problem was with the volume of knobs, and also with the "backing tracks" I added to the Media Library. I think some of those songs added take to the sounds to be too mix and they change for bad when a backing track is sounding.

Now I've checked out & modified everything and it looks like it sounds better now.

Anyway, I've talked to the seller and he told me to take it next monday for change it. He also said that that problem does not appear with the Mustang II. What a good seller is my friend! :-))
