Is it possible to disable all modeling just by connecting thru the FX loop return, or would that still leave poweramp modeling? (The point of this is to use an external modeler, with the amp just for amplification.)

If that's not possible, is there a way to completely disable modeling thru the software? If not currently, is it planned for a future firmware?

Have you tried going to the Deluxe reverb (green third down from top) and turning both mod nobs to zero (move them around before putting them to zero)

That will give you a true clean sound that you can then use something external to add FX

is that what you are looking for?

I do this sometimes, when i want to play with my zoom pedal.

Im not sure if thats what you wanted, but I hope it works out for you.

(you could also try using an adapter to bring your patch cable down to 3.5mm and plug into the aux.....but thats a little hokey )

I don't have the amp so can't try. The lack of FX loop on the II is the main reason holding me back (and hopefully a way to disable modeling).

I suppose even on a clean mode it would be better to completely disable modeling if an external modeler is used.

But there IS an effect loop on the III, so it might be possible there. I assume AUX IN isn't quite meant for that use on the II, which is a pity as otherwise I much prefer it due to price and power.

Hey Guys,

The FX return does bypass all modeling. It's basically a straight line-level path directly to the power amp and speaker.

Thanks Loren.

Does the power amp add much coloring by itself?

Any way to go "no modeling" from software (for the lower watt models)?

The power amp was designed to be transparent. There's already a lot of modeling going on.
We wanted users to know that what they were hearing was accurate. Unfortunately, there's no way to bypass the modeling on the smaller Mustangs.
