I've been waiting to get a footswitch for my mustang I for months now. I finally found them for sale at sweetwater.com, but that is for the 1 button footswitch. Now that fender is coming out with the Mustang III, IV, and V, and they have different footswitches for those, will those work with the Mustang I and II amps? I'd rather pick up one of those instead of the simple 1 button footswitches. But, in a few months I'll probably pickup the Mustang III, which comes with an included 2 button switch, or the Mustang IV, which comes with the 4 button switch.

I cannot give you a definitive answer on your question but I can offer this: I use a vox dual button footswitch (stereo jack instead of the fender mono) for my Mustang 1 and one button works and one doesn't. It functions in just the same way as the fender one would (toggling between the two presets) but the other footswitch is just unused.

So if it were me and I didn't already have a footswitch I'd pick up a dual (stereo type plug) model in the event that it might be more useful in the future.

No they wont work with MI/II's

The MIII comes with a 2 button but you can also purchase a 4 button later-on and use both sets at the same time from what i've read, so its like 6 all-together.

The two-button has no indicator. How do you know where you are preset-wise? Have to look back at that faint little LCD on the amp? Good luck!

Gotta go 4-button for live.

Hey Guys,

Just a quick FYI. Most 2 button foot switches won't work. Neither will any 1 button foot switch that has an LED.
