Got the Mustang I and have all the software setup to record - man it's a heck of a package for $100!

I've got a 64-bit Windows 7 PC and I'm running the Mustang into it via the USB to record my playing. However after about 10 or 15 minutes, a popping/crackling sound starts while I'm recording. So I have my headphones on and I'm playing, the software is recording and everything sounds good..but then out of nowhere this popping and crackling sound starts. I shut down the amp and application and re-start everything and the popping/crackling is gone for about 10-15 minutes then comes back.

Any ideas? I've got 3GB RAM in the computer and 70GB free on my HDD, dual core 3Ghz (pretty sure on the processor specs, I know it's a dual core) so from a system perspective my hardware should be more than sufficient. Any ideas how to correct this?

Just curious. What sound card do you have? I can't seem to get mine working with LIVE. Are you using ASIO?

I am using the FenderASIO driver.

yea, it was a bit tricky to setup at first but use the recording tutorial in Live - it helped me see where the default setup was not correct and wouldn't record.

In my case, basically the Mustang wasn't set to the input!! I set it up in the user interface and it started working. With the exception of the popping sound.

Can be many things:

1. What preset or how much distortion you're using... (pots in the guitar..., pickup going bad)
2. Bad guitar cord (try another) or check the plug going into the guitar might need tightemening...they come loose al lot.
3. Interference (this is a biggy, that's why there are actual recording studios) In todays age, there's so much interference coming from every angle. Cell phones, Wireless this and that, microwaves, neighbors computer, cordless phones..

I went over-board with this but hopefully it is not the Amp and you might be able to
track it down. If you usig those coily type cords, give that up, allthough they look cool
they have cheap ends that will eventually start crackling less ur as still as a bird:D
