When I look at all the banked presets on the amp through fuse, most if not all of them have some sort of effect associated with them. Is it possible to turn these off without using the software i.e. using the dial controls on the amp?

Surely it would have been better if one of the preset banks had beens set up as clean, so that you could add effects are desired?

The effects knobs have OFF, A, B, C, D positions.

To turn an effect off, move its knob to the OFF posision.

If the the knob is already on the OFF position and an effect is still heard, turn the knob to the A (or any other positions) and then back on the OFF position. It will turn of this preset effect.

Press the save button twice if you want to permanently disable the effect on the preset.

I did that on EVRERY presets and then did a backup in fuse.

Hope that helps!

Happy new year!

Thanks for the tips- work a treat, why isn't this in the user manual for the amp?

Well it is but it's not clear as "How to turn off effects?"

In the quick start user manual page 7(http://support.fender.com/manuals/guita ... _Guide.pdf), you'll read this:

Programmable Knobs
Because the setting of every knob on the Mustang amplifier
(except MASTER) is programmed into each preset, all knobs are usually inactive, and therefore, knob positions will NOTshow the actual knob settings stored internally.

So how do I activate a knob?
The moment you turn each knob
it instantly becomes active and it will remain active until you
select a different preset.

It's important to understand this very well so experiment a lot until it becomes natural to you.

In the III, IV and V versions, I think they added an Effect Bypass function, and that's a good thing.

For the I and II it would be easy to implement such a function - say by pressing a given buttons combination - in a futur firmware version.
