Gang,

I noticed on my Mustang I, that the labelling for the Preset Knob is different from the labelling in the instructional videos. On my amp, the "SuperSonic" setting comes before (above) the "Metal 2000" setting. In the instructional videos (on the Fender/Mustang website), the Metal 2000 setting is above the SuperSonic setting.

Also, if you go to Sweetwater and view the hi-res photos of the Mustang I & II consoles, you'll see that the photo of the Mustang I shows the Metal 2000 setting above the SuperSonic setting (the opposite of my Mustang I). But if you look at the Mustang II photo on Sweetwater, you'll see the SuperSonic settng above the Metal 2000 setting.

My guess is that there was a production run error, where the chinese manufacturer rearranged the preset labels. I would also guess that based on alphabetical order, the Metal 2000 preset label should be above the SuperSonic label.

Can anyone confirm and explain why this is so?

Espo

My Mustang II has the metal 2000 below the super sonic. That is how they sound when I play them. Do the settings sound like they should on yours?

Yes, the output from each preset label matches what it should be. And, they also match up in the FUSE software...

Also, I edited my post to remove the text regarding the owner's manuals, because they are consistent. It's just weird that the Mustang I photo on Sweetwater is different from my own Mustang I, and different yet again from the Mustang II photo...

Here's the Sweetwater Mustang I pics: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Mustang1/

If there's a way to figure out which "version" is the most recent production run, I want to make sure I own that version. If I don't, then I'll contact Sweetwater for an exchange.

I have only found a pitch shifter on the modulation pedal. I think you can blend that into an Octaver effect. I'll try it when I get home and see what happens.

Yeah, they work amazingly good... I tried the Pitch Shifter first and got a neat sorta Octave I was looking for..using the rack.... then I went over to the Ring mod rack effect, and man, ez was it..there def. is Octaver builtin to these babies..I was going nutz with Octave up on it..These phuckin AMPs are killer amazing...then I played with Delay which i never use and WOW with the Octave up and some reverb/delay...it sounded like GOD lol...only now I gotta learning howto to play guitar ............ lol
