I downloaded and installed the PC version of the Fender FUSE program, and when prompted to do a firmware update, I clicked the bundle update. It has been updating the firmware for over an hour now, and I was just wondering if this is a normal amount of time for it to complete the update.

I recently did the firmware update and it only took a minute or two. Not sure what the problem would be on your end. I would think an hour is not normal.

Well, is there any way to stop it and restart without messing up my amp?

Problem solved. Before, I was too scared to unplug it while it was doing it's thing, but I did anyways, and then plugged it back in, and voila, it just updated the firmware. :D

In the future I would still be scared to stop the Mustang in the middle of an update ;) It is possible to brick the Mustang if you stop it in the middle of an update.

You got lucky, you restarted it at a point that didn't cause any problems...

Good to hear it updated clean. Make sure though, within Fuse (Main Menu) - > About xxx
that it is in fact Firmware 1.6.0... else, download the Firmware v1.6.x and dont pick bundled (originally, bundled only updated mine to 1.4.x Factory default. Perhaps its fixed now?), so I choose the second option from now on. Hope this helps.

Should a guitar be plugged in when doing firmware and preset updates? Wouldn't want to stress out any circuit boards...

It doesn't matter. Either way works.
