Was going to pick up a champ 600 as a little late night hide away practice amp when I came across the mustangs.

My main question is apart from the obvious size and wattage differences what would be the main differences for getting a model i or model ii ?

Probably really foolish question as I've never looked at anything but tube amps before.
This digital modeling stuff is way outside my comfort zone.

Nothing other than the MS I is (20 watts RMS) with an 8 inch speaker vs the II (40 watts RMS) 12 inch speaker.

If you prefer a more Full AMP bottomy Bassy sound that still sounds great at super low volume..grab the MS II ..other-wise .. lots of ppl are loving there MS I's here as well. They both have the same exact features. Killer lil AMPs. I'm using the MS II and it sounds better than most TUBE amps (at low volume).

Thanks that is what I have been suspecting from what I've been reading.

Came up on what might be a sticking point for me at least FUSE wise.
I don't have easy access to windows, switched to linux years ago.

Wonder if it will work off a cheap netbook?

Some people say they have it working with either or both Wine or VB within Linux... I haven't tried.. but if you search this forum there is a community user in the developing satges, making a program in Python for Linux. Good idea th watch that thread.

There working on a scroll bar fix for netbook users... Seem the screens are just a tad to small...but one guy worked around it by hooking up an external monitor to his netbook. The next Fuse software up-date should have full access for netbooks (I'm guessing).

Thanks will keep an eye on those topics.

Apparently my work laptop has a version of vmware player with a windows of some kind in it.
Not really supposed to use those for personal things, and from what I remember starting that vmware player causes the laptop to choke.

Don't know if you made the jump to get a Mustang or not, but netbooks don't work well, simply because you cannot get all of the screen from the Fuse software to show on a netbook screen; it's too large (I know, I tried it myself on my Toshiba).

I'd get the amp anyway - it's a great sounding little rig.

Sandy Claws must have been watching, a mustang I showed up under the tree along with a pair of Sony MRD7506 headphones!

Amp works great! haven't tried having a go at the bundled software yet :)
