I have had my new Mustang Amp for about a week now. I am trying to find some good voices for my Taylor T5 with this amp. I play fingerstyle stuff (I'd say Chet Stuff but that'd insult him). Guess you could say a bluesy, hollowbody tone. Mostly Clean or a edge of breakup. Anybody got any setting that might get me started?

Amp?

Settings?

Etc.?

Of course the other question might be is this the wrong amp for a T5. Maybe more of a solid body guitar amp or a semi hollow.

Thanks

Its fine with this AMP ... Check Fuse ..first Mustang preset I believe is in first place (accoustic) like-name or something like that ..should get you going, you'll see it. Congrats on your new AMP, these are beauties!

I own a T5 and have played my Mustang 2 with it.
My preference is the twin reverb setting ( clean) and the SuperSonic for ( dirt)

T5 can sound brighter than my other guitars ( active pickups) I used the Fuse to roll back some of the mids.

But I think a lot of this can be done with the guitar.
The #4 setting sounds a little bit like a Gretsch and I roll off some of the treble so its not too bright.

Just my 02.

I have an acoustic amp to play my T5 thru so I was looking for more of the electric sounds. Kind of the 50 hollow body or semi hollow body sounds. But I will download the "Acoustic" preset and give it a try.

Right now the twin reverb clean is one I've been trying to get to work. I don't know if its right or not but I'm getting a kind of "springy" sound on my bass string with the twin reverb - with no reverb on. Not sure why that is either?

Hotraman - What are the amp settings you are using if you don't mind my asking for the twin reverb clean sound?

My T5 is the maple top so it has a little more bright than the others so I do usually roll the treble off on the guitar just a little.

Thanks for the help.

My twin setting is based on the "Surf Twin Reverb" patch.

Bright switch: up

Gain: 4.5

Treble: 7.5

Mids: 4

Bass: 7

Reverb: 3

I have a Koa T5 and the tone is mellower than the maple top that you have.
I run my OD pedals into the amp.
But this setting works well with my T5 - instrument cable- Mustang 2.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the tip. I will give it a try. Will probably need to turn the highs down some and the mids up a little on the maple top.

I tried the "acoustic" preset but the gain was set at 0 and it didn't make a sound. Or I did something wrong

Thanks for the help.

Agreed, you will need to bring down the highs.
Can't comment on the "acoustic" preset.
Is this a patch that someone created?
I know from my Line 6 X3L experience, that a good "acoustic setting" may involve a preamp model.

No the acoustic is a preset that is / or was one of the top rated on Fender Fuse site. But when I downloaded it and put it on the amp there was no sound. Mostly due to the gain being 0 I'm sure. But it really didn't matter the Mustang is a electric guitar amp and I don't expect acoustic sounds from it. I have a decent acoustic amp and my acoustic guitars, including the taylor, sound good thru it.

I'm trying to get some electric sounds, so thanks for the help.

Regards
Tony
