Can anyone recommend a good clean setting on Mustang II that I can use with an external multi-effects pedal that has amp modeling? I'm looking for a generic clean tone that isn't too colored by OEM tones. Thanks!

There lots of cleans ... Bassman, DeluXe, Twin .. then turn the Effects and Reverb UP then OFF.

I would start with the Twin. The Bassman is nice for variety. I use my pedal board with my Mustang 2 all the time. I like the reverb that the Mustang offers.
