the tuner that comes with the Mustang I, that is good enough of a tuner? or is it recommended to get a separate one?

seems ok for me ears only if the amp's setting are basic clean. though my ears are just now getting "trained" into the world of a string instrument.

thx

Unless I'm missing something, the tuner is useless for those of us who tune down a half-step.

By iteself, yes. ... but within Fuse you can achieve that.

For dropping a 1/2 step, use the # led. D#-G#-C#-F#-A#-D#.

I actually found out by accident that all you have to do is just keep tuning down (so that the flat LED - on the left - lights up....keep going and the flat light goes out and the sharp light comes up...keep going down and the green LED will light when you've reached a full and proper half-step down.

I shot my mouth off before I figured it out.

So much for the fender folks monitoring the boards and helping us out...couldn't one of you "customer service" folks have jumped in and said, "hey, dummy...here's how it works"? I won't be holding my breath for a net-book fix, I guess.

Strats (long scale) with .010s are harder to play then LP or SG (short scale) with .010s. But Strats with .009 sound a little tiny. Solution: Strat with .010s tuned 1/2 step down. Big sound, less effort with bends.

I fret each string at the first fret with my left hand, strike the string and tune it with my right hand. That way I use the Mustang's tuner, or any tuners, the standard way.

Hi levinbravo,

Yes indeed, you can tune down a half step with the included tuner.

Best Regards,
