Quite happy with it so far, though using my 2008 MIJ basswood strat with Rio Grande Vintage Tallboys and my PRS SE Custom Semi Hollow, the 1st and 2nd banks of presets are a bit over the top. Bank 3 which appears to be "clean" settings is OK.

Not keen on Marshall and "Metal" style amp presets. Will undoubtedly replace them with presets for Blues and Champ and Princeton presets.

Fuse is working fine on my 3 year old Celeron CPU laptop with Win XP ( with all updates) - no other software other than Firefox installed.

chek out Ishibashi in Japan

Here's my Strat

http://www.ishibashi-webshop.jp/shop/g/g312193500/

and here's Ishibashi's MIJ Fender page

http://www.ishibashi-webshop.jp/shop/c/c310M8/

They are MIJ Fenders with Fender decals, not Squiers

The Strat that you like would be (in Japan) less than $800 Australian - probably about the same Canadian. The basswood models are the bottom of the line units. As the price goes up the body timbers change as do the electronics.

I defy anybody who is into guitars to walk into Ishibashi ( I've been to 2 in Osaka) and not find choosing a guitar difficult. There are just too many, and not just Fender.

i too found only bank 3 to be clean for me ears. new too all this but the first 2 banks just didn't sound clean enough. too much noise for my tastes.

btw, i would like to replace the presets with the "blues" presets you mention. how does one go about doing that? and where are these "presets" for download?

thx

Preset location: https://fuse.fender.com

i. Install the CD that come with your AMP .. ii. Open up the Fuse program iii. (Search for 'Blues', etc..) Download/Install the presets to your amplifier, over writing anything you like.

Register on the Fuse forum - using your amps Serial number (note your password must have at least one upper-case letter - prevented me from using same on both Fender and Fuse Forums)- and ensure that you chose Mustang as your amp type.

I use Firefox (and Linux) to access the Forums and to download presets and backing tracks and save them to a USB stick. I then boot Win XP in my laptop and after Opening Fuse, import the presets and backing tracks. I dont use Windows on the 'Net (no viruses or trojans for me). Can do the same under Windows, you dont have to do it through the Fuse program if you dont want to.
