Hi

I have tried to set up an aggregate device and although I followed the instructions by Apple Logic still does not recognise my amp. Oh well I'll just keep trying.

DONE IT!! :D In the Audio Midi Setup I had only ticked Mustang Amplifier but had not previously ticked the other 3, Built-in Output, Built-in Microphone, Built-in input. After doing that and clicking done, then selecting + Aggregate Device, opening up logic, I could see it.

Thanks for all the posts on this, it has really helped me.

Cool! Glad to hear that!
Yep, setting an agregate device is a bit tricky at first but once it is done, it becomes a powerful tool!

Congrads and enjoy!

Is there an instructional video or guide to help me get started?

I've NEVER recorded before...

I have the amp connected to the computer, (an iMac) via the USB connection. I've downloaded all the software for amplitube and Ableton Live and I must have done something right because I can hear my guitar and amp through my computer speakers with amplitube but not the Live software.

When I open either software, I don't know how to begin trying to record. I see no button or icon for recording, playback, etc...

I've been reading posts on the forum trying to learn but most of the terminology is over my head.

I have a Lexicon Omega interface but it isn't connected. Do I need it? I don't know how to use it either.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!!!

Joel

you can choose the mustang as an input in Mac OS X's Audio MIDI Setup item in the utilities folder:

also, in logic, on the audio preferences under core audio:

this is logic pro 9. indeed, there is no output to the mustang, only input. (I have a Mustang I.)

hope this helps!

Hi j4bis

Have a look at this link. This tells you how to set up an aggregate device on your mac http://www.apple.com/pro/techniques/aggregateaudio/

Then if you wanted to record in Garageband you open it up, click on "Garageband", "preferences", "audio/midi" then click on the arrows on the right hand side of "built in input" and select "aggregate device".

This will get you going in Garageband, I'm not sure about amplitube and Ableton Live as I haven't used them.

Hope this helps.
