I just bought this yesterday and exploring the options for recording/playback.
Does anyone have opinions on the best way to record through a UX1 and run through the MII? I would like to know which DAW is preferable and provides the most ease of use and least problems with the MII in the loop? I was thinking to plug the amp in through the MIC INPUT on the UX1 is this correct?? I also tried to play a backing track through the AUX input on the amp and it sounded like krap...all crackly and low...any input?

I look forward to your responses. BTW, great amp Fender!

Hey Strat-Toter,

Welcome to the Fender forums. Regarding recording your MII, there are a few options.

First, your MII is actually a unidirectional USB audio interface. This means that you can record to any ASIO compatible audio app while using your built in soundcard or another device for playback. I'm not familiar with the UX1. Does it have a line input? If you definitely want to record using the UX1 and it has a line input you can do so using the headphone jack on the MII. You dont want to record using the MIC input.

Loren,

The UX1 is a POD product with a MIC, INSTRUMENT and HEADPHONE IN inputs. I have another post re: not being able to work with CUBASE 5, and now the amp will not bee "seen" or e accurately HEARD by Ableton...I have all updates installed as well as the Fender ASIO and still no luck...I have been working on this for two solid days and getting close to bringing this amp back. I love the tone, but I bought it for it's recording abilities and I am not impressed right now. I have tweaked, changed and tried everything from reading up on forums, trial and error, rebooting, reinstalling CUBASE, LINE6 s/w etc and no dice. The CUBASE has no issues seeing the POD UX1 but never sees the Mustang II. I was going to purchase a new POD HD until I saw the Mustang and went on the glowing reviews...but I am at my wits end...any help would be greatly appreciated!
