Hello,

Sorry if this is a very newbish question, but I just picked up an electric guitar and this is my very first amp. So I tried al the presets, but I noticed that the Twin Reverb is very soft compared to the others.

Is it supposed to be like this?
While the other presets are around normal volume (like, speaking volume) I can barely hear the Twin Reverb preset.

And what's the difference between master and volume?

that's all.

All the help will be appreciated =)

The Twin on this amp is more of a cleaner sound ( less overdrive) It can get very loud when adjusting the gain, volume and overall volume knobs. Its one of my favorites.
But... the real secret of the Mustang amp lies within the Fuse program... there you have access to a mid knob, compression stomp boxes, and OD pedals that would allow you to get louder on the Twin Reverb setting.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply, so you're saying it's normal because it's like a clean channel, so there isn't much gain?

My question about the volume and master still stands, what's the difference.

And when I connected my amp with fuse for the first time, I noticed there were 24 DIFFERENT presets already... Never knew that, Thought all the banks were the same. (In demo videos and stuff they only show 8 presets so meh...)

All you need to do is adjust the volume level (on the amp) so it matches your taste and then push the save button on the amp.

I play a Tele and on the '65 Twin setting it sounds louder if the Tone on my guitar is turned all the way up. Basically on a clean setting you need to have more treble and if you have the guitars Tone knob turned all way down the sound is softer and more muted. Having said that - yo may like a softer 'jazz' tone. I play more country and a brighter tight tone suits me - and it sounds louder all around. If the volume is too low then you will probably need to use the Master to increase the overall volume level without changing the built-in amp setting (the gain, volume settings). You can also use the Fuse software to change the gain and volume or just change them then save them using the SAVE button. Look at the videos on the DVD to get more help on doing this. Hope this helps.

To answer the question about the gain, volume and the master knobs. The gain and volume will control the overall "hotness" of the amp. To get a really clean and loud sound you would have the gain low and the volume high. To get a more overdriven sound make the gain higher and adjust the volume lower to keep the overall volume level the same. The master knob adjusts the total volume of the amp - it affects all the amp settings. So if you turn the master up then every one of the 24 amp settings will be louder. If you want the '65 Twin setting to be louder without increasing the master you should increase the volume knob just when it's on the '65 Twin setting then SAVE this as that setting new parameters. By the way - there are 3 banks of 8 amp settings - for a total of 24 amp settings. These are grouped in banks of green, red and amber. As you rotate the PRESET knob you'll see the colored LEDs change so you'll know what bank you are in. As it goes from green to amber the settings appear to get hotter and more overdriven. You can save two settings as the "footswitchable" settings so that a simple push-button type footswtich will toggle between these setting - regardless of what the PRESET knob is set to. This way you can save your two favorite settings and toggle between them.

Every modeling amp I've ever played does this type of thing. I remind myself that I'm putting a signal into a computer that's trying to figure out how to get an end result that lies within certain parameters. That stuff gets wonky pretty fast sometimes.

edit: Also, WHAT'S UP Tele Buddy... X D
