Actually the BJ cover is a touch smaller, just in height. Works fine, though.

$50...ouch. That's 25% of the price of the entire amp!

And it's not a Fender cover. It's custom made to fit the amp. I'd wait until Fender makes them. My Gdec 3 cover was only 20 ordered though my local dealer and they didn't charge shipping.

He wanted a cover for the mustang ii so that's more like a quarter of its price.. and its the only cover currently made specifically for that amp. Am I saying I would hop on to get one of them? Nah. But its good to have as many options as possible when making a decision..

You might check at a upolstery shop if there is one close. They would probably make one up for you fairly cheap. It might even make the wife happy if it's setting in the front room. It could match that LOVE seat. ha ha !!!

Loren,

Any news on Amp Covers for the Mustang Series of Amps? I have managed to make do with a Pro Junior cover for my daughter's Mustang I but I have a Mustang III on the way and so far I have not found another cover that will work for this amp.

Thanks

After some research, I decided on a cover for my Mustang II - anything would be better than just putting the plastic bag in which it's delivered over it...
I just received the cover for the Cyber Champ/(Princeton 112) and found it fits pretty much perfectly on the Mustang II. Comes up about an inch short on the bottom, but the amp is basically covered all the way. The handle slot matches up, so no having to put the cover on backwards to make it fit. Plus, there is even space to leave in the power supply at the back while covering the amp. The cover has Fender parts number 002-9883-000.
To compare, the dimensions of both amps:

Mustang II
H = 17.25"
W = 18.25"
D = 8.7"

Cyber Champ
H = 17.25"
W = 18.5"
D = 9.5"

Hope this helps you folks!

Kim at http://www.newoldsounds.com/ called me back after going back & forth with Fender for a week, trying to find a cover for my Mustang II in which I've been using a 30 gal trash bag as a cover... Though she didn’t have any in stock right now, she is going to order some (for Mustangs 1 & 2), & have them by Tuesday or Wednesday...

I already ordered one, & she said she won’t bill my CC until she has it & ready to be shipped. Price is $24.95 + $4 to $5 shipping. (she wasn’t sure)... I told her she should get several of each (1 & 2), as I wasn’t the only one looking... I still find it curious that Fender wouldn't have on their site. Only for the III & up... :?:

I need to apologize for my previous post. After waiting several weeks, I emailed them again & received this:

We can provide the cover you are looking for for the Mustang II cover if you want it, I do not know the current stock status because it is something we would need to order directly from Fender, sometimes things are on backorder for months. If there is anything I can do for you, please let me know.

Fender is very free to give out the part # as was done here previously, & says that the cover is available at any authorized Fender dearler. But as you all have have discovered, no 'authorized' dealer seems to know anything about covers for the Mustang I & II... I've given up & will simply continue using a trash bag as a cover. Apologies again.

this thread started some time ago obviously, but was there ever an answer? I came up short on a Google search for a good answer.

This is what a few guys are using. It's 1 1/4" shorter but fits good enough and keeps the dust off the top controls
