I installed the Fuse software and got the message that it wouldn't run unless the amp's firmware was updated. Then I got the update dialog box with the choice of using the Bundled Update or a Downloaded Update.

I chose the Bundled Update, re-turned on the amp with the Save Button pressed (update mode), and after a moment the Fuse software Crashed and had to close!

Now the Mustang II does Nothing! It's not even an amp! All it does is flash the Save Button - Waiting for a Firmware Update!?

The problem is - There is no Bundled Update and I can't find a downloaded update.

I need a proper ".upd" file. Where do I get one?

Someone please help.

Thank you,

BS

Hey Bob,

I apologize for the issue you're experiencing. You can download the Mustang's current firmware here:

Hi Loren,

I've been messing with this all day long. Every once in a while, just for no other reason than being out of ideas, I would try it again with the Bundled Software option, (which I was never able to find.). I'm sure I tried it over 20 times.

This last time - It worked.

Very Strange.

I can't explain it. I don't expect you to.

Anyway, it's an amp again and I'm starting to explore the Fuse software. It appears to be working and it looks pretty cool.

I've downloaded the update file from the link you posted and I'll keep it around if I run into any problems. For now though, it seems ok.

Thanks so much,

BS

Is there a way to find out what version of firmware is currently running on my Mustang?

Due to the problems I experienced before, I'm rather hesitant to just try an upgrade again, especially if it's the same version. If I'm running ver 1.3 now, I'll just wait.

I'm having that CPU Hog problem.....

Thanks

BS

Hi, I updated the firmware to 1.4 during the Fuse install, no problems here,
I have these files, you can compare the size of yours, if they are different,
maybe you can post the size and suspected version, and someone who knows can verify if they are version specific.

C:Program Files\Fender\Fender FUSE\DefaultFirmware\MustangHigh\Mustang_III.upd = 242K 9/10/2010

C:Program Files\Fender\Fender FUSE\DefaultFirmware\MustangLow\Mustang_I.upd = 195K 9/10/2010

Cheers
