I am trying to put a wet/dry/wet setup together with my main amplifier. The specs of the Mustang II seem to make it a good, inexpensive choice instead of picking up a power amp and two 1x12 cabinets. Anyone have any thoughts about using the Mustang IIs for this purpose?

Hi, I'm using a Mustang 1 as a preamp for ampsims, via the usb or headphone output. So whatever 24 presets you create or choose, are sent to the ampsim at the twiddle of the knob, and you can craft some or all of your 24 sounds with that in mind. Put a different instance or ampsim or favourite vst fx on different tracks, and your sonic options are exponential. I also use the Mustang with a splitter, so a different amp with very different sound can also be driven. But as the Chef says, its easier to make mud than chocolate

There are people using ampsims with clean power amps direct to cabinets, to get uncolored output from the modeled gear they have. Again, putting
a well designed digital amp before the ampsim provides great and fast expandibility of each ampsim preset and gear selection.

With a Guitar Center $50 coupon good through thursday, one could get a
Mustang II, and Amplitube 3 Crossgrade, for $390, using the bundled
Amplitube LE as the crossgrade. Here is th A3 gear junkies dream pile:

Cheers :)

you've got crazy brains to suggest something like this!

I want to hear it if you get it set up, though
