I was just wondering since the Mustang should ideally have a full range speaker, and you can even cancel the cab modelling completely, would it work well as a low volume bass amp? How low is the frequency response of the speaker? Would it be possible to get one that goes even lower?

The G-DEC 3s work fine with a bass, so I don't know why the Mustangs wouldn't. Start with one of the Bassman models for what is going to be the best match.

Yeah, I'd like to hear a bass through a good bassman model.

I play my Hofner bass through the Mustang I amp on the Bassman setting only. So far so good and it sounds great. May not be wise to use other amp settings.
