Many have asked in the Forum Lounge about recording and how they can get into it without spending a lot of dough.

These amps could be the answer.

Install software - plug into amp - record. :)

The Mustang amplifiers are compatible with any ASIO compatible audio program. The Mustang can output audio through the USB port but you'll have to use your computers soundcard for output.

If you need the driver, you can get a free download here :

Hi, the Mustang line-out can always be recorded on anything with a line-in.
But it is possible that the Fender asio driver will be needed to record via
the Mustang usb output, rather than the generic asio4all. Companies
often code proprietary drivers, to insure the very best results when using complex hard and softwares together

asio4all is very useful, and can be used with for computers using motherboard sounchips that don't ship asio drivers. The bundled ableton software probably has huge numbers of laptop musicians using asio4ll
in their setups. And sometimes it is better than a factory supplied driver
that has ceased to be updated.
Cheers

edit: to be clear, to use the line-out of the amp to provide a signal for Fender Amplitube, to be recorded in Ableton, you could choose asio4all as the asio driver in Ableton Live.

To record the Mustang sounds from the usb cable, into Ableton, you would
choose the Fender asio driver. It has been mentioned in another post that
the sounds of the two outputs differ, so choice is good. I don't have my Mustang yet. But tomorrow is coming :)

Hi, got the Mustang 1 all set up, running its headphone out to
signal a collection of vst fx along with its native output.
I love the preset dial, 24 versions of any vst fx rack I put together 8)

The preset creation in Fuse is also easy as could be, and the available fx
are very useful. I like the videos from that guy, he's just playing and not
overhyping.
Cheers

WOW - great video. Killer chops and some sweet Fender guitars... The Mustang sounds really nice here.

Just a guess but I think sixline is trying to pointing out that the Mustang amp itself, acts like a dongle to the Fender Fuse software. Fuse won't fire up unless it is (or thinks it is) connected to a Mustang amp. So, as brilliant as ASIO4ALL is, it would not work in this instance... not sure what I'm missing.
