I was given a Mustang Mini amp by a friend, and I was wondering if I could use it to amplify an acoustic violin sound? The only problem I'm having is I can't figure out how to use the amp with no effects or presents, just using it to reproduce the pure sound from an acoustic instrument without anything being added in. Is this possible? thank you for all the help!

If the mini is V1, pre-GT, try Using Fender Fuse,
or the ubuntu/debian linux Mustang editor
called 'plug', I would select the Twin Reverb model,
turn all controls to about 40%, turn off reverb/tremolo
and software cabinet, and do some tests, then modify
the 40% based on what's good for the strings.

The mic will need to match the guitar input level
for best results. If the mini has a 1/8 inch line-level input,
that bypasses the bit's and bobs of the amp modeling,
and might be neutral enough for good results,
and guides for line-level mic use would apply.
You might find a good used ART FXR effects rack, to use
as a source of ambience, between the violin and your ears.
Good luck.

Thank you! I just got a new pickup that might have less of an edge to the sound, so I will try it out with the tips you gave asap.
